FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES

The field of 20 contestants will compete over 18 holes for 4 qualifying places and 2 alternate positions in the 2021 U.S. Women’s Senior Amateur Championship to be played September 10-15, 2021 at The Lakewood Club in Point Clear, AL.

PRACTICE ROUND

Practice rounds will be available based on club availability on the dates and times listed below.  Players must call Canongate I to make arrangements for a starting time.  Only one practice round per player will be allowed, and practice rounds will be limited to contestants only.  Practice round cart and range fee is $30 plus tax. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

  • Monday - Thursday, any time based on availability.
  • Friday - Sunday, after 1 p.m., based on availability.

YARDAGES & TEES

The practice yardage link at www.gsga.org on the event details page will primarily be utilized for the qualifying round. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. A practice yardage sheet will also be available in the golf shop.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:00 a.m. each day of competition.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on August 6. 

CADDIES

Players may provide their own caddie. 

CARTS

Practice cart and range fees are $30. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. During the qualifying round, a player or caddie (but not both) may transport a player’s bag on a cart and ride for a fee of $18.  Spectator carts are strictly prohibited in all instances.

PRIZES

A silver medal will be presented to the low scorer at the conclusion of the qualifying rounds.

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdraws must be called in to the GSGA office at (678) 324-5974.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

PREFERED LIES

In Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.

FOOD SERVICE

Food and beverage items will be available at the clubhouse and the halfway house.  

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Local and Sectional Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply. The wearing of short pants is prohibited in the Championship proper, but is permissible in Local and Sectional Qualifying provided the host club does not have a dress code prohibiting such.
