USGA Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Qualifying Round

18 players (9 teams)

FORMAT &

QUALIFYING PLACES

18 holes of four-ball stroke play for 2 qualifying spots and 2 alternate spots to advance to the 2022 USGA Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship to be played April 20 – 24, 2022 at The Grand Reserve Golf Club in Puerto Rico.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

One practice round per player and practice rounds are for players only. Practice rounds will be available on the designated dates and times below. Please contact Newnan Country Club to reserve your practice round starting time. Practice round cart and range fee is $30 plus tax and must be paid regardless of whether or not the player chooses to walk or ride.  Cash and credit cards will be the accepted methods of payment in the golf shop.

CARTS

Practice cart and range fees are $30 plus tax. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $30 plus tax. Spectator carts are strictly prohibited in all instances. Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee.

YARDAGES & TEES

Yardages may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. A practice yardage sheet will be provided to the club and will also be posted at www.gsga.org on the event details page. The Ridge and Bluff nines will be played

GOLF SHOP &

DRIVING RANGE:

The golf shop and driving range will open by 7:00 a.m. the morning of qualifying.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and will be posted at the club the day before the qualifying round. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information.

REGISTRATION

NO formal registration will be held on site.  Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdraws must be called in to the GSGA office at (770) 955-4272 or e-mailed to mmccachern@gsga.org.    

CADDIES

No caddies are available at Newnan Country Club. The player is solely responsible for making arrangements for a caddie.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY

The USGA Rules of Play and GSGA Pace of Play Policies shall be in effect. Click here to view policies.

PREFERRED LIES

Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Sectional Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

Food and beverages will be available in the grill.  Cash and credit cards will be accepted for F & B purchases.  F & B will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m.

PRIZES

A Silver medal will be presented to the low side at the conclusion of the qualifying round.
