QUALIFYING PORTAL: Follow the link for pairings, live scoring, results and player information. You can also access the portal by using the USGA Tournament Management app on your mobile device. To access the portal using the mobile app, login using GGID: USOPEN-RICH21

 

QUALIFYING YARDAGE: Follow the link for hole-by-hole yardages. The course will play 6860 yards, par-72.

 

PRACTICE ROUND AVAILABILITY: Players may play one hosted practice round. Practice rounds for all contestants will be available on Sunday, June 6 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Practice rounds can be scheduled by calling the golf shop at (509) 627-2321.

FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES: Stroke play competition conducted over 36 holes. The field of 45 contestants will compete for 2 qualifying places and two (2) alternate positions into the 121st U.S. Open to be played at Torrey Pines Golf Course (South) in San Diego, CA on June 17-20, 2021.

 

WAIVER: After arriving on-site, players must sign WA Golf’s COVID-19 Participant Release Waiver at player registration. All players must sign the Participant Release Waiver prior to participating. Caddies are not required to sign the waiver.

 

MASK REQUIREMENT: Players and caddies are required to wear a facial covering while at registration, the starting tee, scoring and in any other public areas or indoors.

 

REGISTRATION & SCREENING: Players will need to register with WA Golf upon arrival at the golf course. Players will be subject to answer a health screening and travel questions related to COVID-19. Players must register before heading to the practice facilities or starting tee.

 

STARTING TIMES: Available on the Washington Golf website (wagolf.org) and on the Qualifying Portal. Starting times will be off the #1 and #10 tees from 7:15 a.m. – 8:32 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. – 2:17 p.m. STARTING TIMES

 

PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place or for the order of alternates, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff to determine the final qualifiers and the 1st and 2nd alternates if necessary. All announcements regarding the play-off and start time will be made via text message and email.

 

ONLINE SCORING: A walking scorer will be with each group to provide hole-by-hole live scoring for both rounds. Scores will be available on the qualifying portal and by using the Golf Genius app with GGID: USOPEN-RICH21

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES/RANGE BALLS: Practice facilities will be open from 6:00 a.m. until the completion of play. Range balls will be hosted on the driving range.  

 

CADDIES: Caddies are permitted. A limited number of host club caddies will be available. Please contact Jim Kriskovich by email or phone at golf-4fun@hotmail.com or (509) 521-0888 to arrange a caddie.

 

CARTS: Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a round unless authorized by the Committee.   

 

SPECTATOR CARTS: Spectator carts will not be permitted.    

 

PULL CARTS: Pull carts are permitted. A limited number (12) of pull carts are available to rent through the golf shop.

 

GOLF SHOP: The golf shop will be open from 6:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED

Cash, Visa and MasterCard.

 

LOCKER ROOM: The host club locker room will be open for player use at 6:00 a.m. Individual lockers will not be available.

 

FOOD SERVICE: The snack bar located on the outside lower level of the clubhouse will be open from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. The clubhouse lounge and restaurant will be open from

10:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

DMDS: During both Local and Final Qualifying rounds, the use of electronic distance measuring devices to measure distance is allowed (subject to certain requirements). However, during the Championship Proper, the Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect and prohibits the use of electronic distance measuring devices. Model Local Rule G-5

UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF DMDs

 

PACE OF PLAY: It is a condition that player must play without undue delay and in accordance with guidelines established by committee. PACE OF PLAY GUIDELINES

 

EVACUATION PLAN: In the event of a discontinuance of play during the qualifier, players must adhere to the evacuation plan distributed by the Committee at their appropriate starting tee. 

  

CODE OF CONDUCT: As set forth in the USGA application, the code of conduct applies to all USGA Qualifying and Championships. 

 

PERSONAL APPEARANCE: Players, caddies and spectators must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing. Shorts are permitted.

 

PROHIBITION ON CERTAIN TYPES OF SHOES: The Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-7.

 

GOLF BALLS/DRIVER HEADS: Only brands of golf balls on the most current List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300. See Model Local Rules G-1 and G-3.

 

The one ball Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-4. 

 

GROOVES: In Qualifying and in the Championship proper, the Local Rule as prescribed by

Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-2.

 

AWARD CEREMONY: Silver medal will be awarded to the lowest scorer and lowest amateur scorer (if not lowest scorer).
