QUALIFYING MEMORANDUM TO PLAYERS

QUALIFYING PORTAL: Follow the link for pairings, live scoring, results and player information. You can also access the qualifying portal by using the USGA Tournament Management app on your mobile device. To access the page, login using the GGID: USSRAM-CLE21

 

QUALIFYING YARDAGE: 6,629 yards, par-72. Qualifying yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions.

 

FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES: Stroke play competition conducted over 18 holes. The field of 41 players will compete for two (2) qualifying places and two (2) alternate positions that will advance into the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship to be played at Country Club of Detroit in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan on August 28 – September 2, 2021.

 

PRACTICE ROUND AVAILABILITY: Players may play one hosted practice round prior to the qualifier. Practice rounds will be available at any time on Monday - Thursday and after 1:00 p.m. on Friday – Sunday. All contestants must call the golf shop at (509) 649-6401 to make arrangements beginning on Thursday, July 15. No practice rounds should be scheduled prior to this date.

 

STARTING TIMES: Available on the Washington Golf website (wagolf.org) and on the qualifying portal. Online scoring will also be available on the website and portal during qualifying. Starting times will be from 7:30 a.m. – 9:53 a.m.

 

PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place or for the order of alternates, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff to determine the final qualifiers and the 1st and 2nd alternates if necessary. All announcements regarding the play-off and start time will be made via text message and email.

 

WAIVER: After arriving on-site, players must sign WA Golf’s COVID-19 Participant Release Waiver at player registration. All players must sign the waiver prior to participating.
 

REGISTRATION & SCREENING: Players will need to register with WA Golf upon arrival at the golf course. Players must register before heading to the practice facilities or starting tee.

HAND SANITIZER: All players will be provided with a bottle of hand sanitizer at Player Registration.

 

GOLF SHOP: The golf shop will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 

FOOD SERVICE: Breakfast grab-and-go options and beverages will be available at Portals in the lodge starting at 6:00 a.m. The Prospector Clubhouse Restaurant will be open from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. with full menu service.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED: Cash and all major credit cards.

 

LOCKER ROOM: The host club does NOT have a locker room. Restrooms are available inside the clubhouse.  

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES/RANGE BALLS: Range balls will be hosted and can be picked up at the registration tent from 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.    

 

CADDIES: Caddies are permitted, although host club caddies will not be available.

 

PULL CARTS: Pull carts are permitted and will be available for $10 on first come first serve basis in the golf shop.

 

CARTS: Carts will be available for rent for $25 per player, players will rent a cart inside the golf shop on August 3. The USGA Cart Policy for Senior Amateur Championships is in effect.

 

PROHIBITION ON CERTAIN TYPES OF SHOES: The Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-7.

 

GOLF BALLS/DRIVER HEADS: Only brands of golf balls on the most current List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300. See Model Local Rules G-1 and G-3.

 

The one ball Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-4.
 

GROOVES: In Qualifying and in the Championship proper, the Local Rule as prescribed by

Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-2. UNDERSTANDING THE GROOVES LOCAL RULE

 

DMDS: The use of distance-measuring devices (DMD) to measure distance only (Rule 4.3) is permitted. UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF DMDs

 

PACE OF PLAY: It is a condition that players must play without undue delay and in accordance with guidelines established by the Committee. PACE OF PLAY GUIDELINES

 

EVACUATION PLAN: In the event of a discontinuance of play during the qualifier, players must adhere to the evacuation plan distributed by the Committee.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT: As set forth in the USGA application, the code of conduct applies to all USGA Qualifying and Championships. 

 

PERSONAL APPEARANCE: Players must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing.

 

AWARD CEREMONY: Silver Medal will be awarded to lowest scorer.
