PGA Past President Derek Sprague is the General Manager of TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where he oversees a team of 300+ individuals including THE PLAYERS Championship each March. He previously served as the Managing Director of Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey for two years, where he oversaw the club’s preparation for the highly successful 2017 Presidents Cup.

 

He began his career at Malone Golf Club in Malone, New York which is a very active 36-holes semi-private operation.  During his 26 years there, he was instrumental in growing the club’s revenue three-fold and was profitable every year.  In 2001, Sprague managed a new clubhouse project where he honed his skills in facility management.
