2021 Father Daughter Modified Scotch Tournament

Entry Fee: $225 per team

Entries Open: 05/11/2021 at 10:00am

Entries Close: 07/13/2021 at 5:00pm

 

Eligibility: Two person teams. Entries open to any amateur Father and Daughter teams who have an active and up to date Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 54.0 combined, and 36.0 individually (as determined by the July 13, 2021 Handicap Revision).

 

Father may only play with one daughter.

 

Format: 18 Holes Stroke Play. The format will be a modified foursome (Selected Drive Alternate Shot). Each team member will hit a tee shot after which the better of the two balls will be played into the hole in alternate shot format. Please remember that penalty shots DO NOT affect the order of play. For example: Player A hits his ball into a penalty area. Player B would drop a ball as prescribed under 17.1d and play the next shot.

 

Entry Procedures: Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.

 

Field: Entries will be on a first come, first served basis. After the field is full a waitlist will automatically start. 

 

Approximate Yardages & Divisions: Two gross divisions. Teams get to decide which division they want to play in.

 

  • Play for Fathers in all divisions will be from the BLACK MASS GOLF tees (approx. 6,300 yards)
  • Play for Daughters in the Championship Division will be from the BLUE MASS GOLF tees (approx. 5,500 yards)
  • Play for Daughters in the Forward Division will be from the RED MASS GOLF tees (approx. 5,200 yards)

 

Caddies & Automotive Transportation: Cart fee is included in entry fee. Caddies and pull carts (at the host club(s) discretion) are permitted.

 

Starting Time: Tee times will begin at 8:00 AM off of the 1st tee.

 

Scoring: At the end of the round all scores must be verified by the team before your team’s designated app scorekeeper and unofficial written scorekeeper reports to the scoring tent. Mass Golf staff will verify with the designated scorekeepers that their scores are accurate and will take a verbal yes as a confirmation/signature as this will be a no touch process.

 

Playoff: In the event of a tie for first place, there will be a hole-by-hole sudden death playoff on a hole designated by the Committee to determine the Champion team. All other ties will be decided by matching cards in accordance with USGA recommended method.

 

Prizes: We will be awarding pro shop credit to the top three finishing teams.

 

Practice Rounds: Shaker Hills Country Club is graciously allowing players to call the golf shop to book a practice round prior to the tournament.

  • Practice round fee per player: $40
  • Dates available: ONLY July 26, July 27 and July 28th after 12:00 PM.

Rules of Golf: The USGA Rules of Golf, Local Rules and Terms of Competitions for Mass Golf Tournaments govern all play.

Distance-Measuring Devices: Permitted as specified in Mass Golf Championship Policies & Procedures.

 

Food & Beverage: Mass Golf will be providing a complimentary boxed lunch for all competitors. The lunch will include a wrap, water and bag of chips. You can grab your boxed lunch between 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM depening on your tee time. The halfway house (on holes 6 and 13) will be open with items for purchase starting at 9 AM. Breakfast will not be available at the club.

 

Bathrooms: Located inside the clubhouse and on the course. On course bathrooms are located at holes 6 and 13.

 

Withdrawal & Refund Policy: Competitors who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office (email preferred). Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified seven (7) days prior to the event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven (7) days prior to the event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event.
