6-6-6 WOODCREEK

GGID:  666Woodcreek

This is a fun, two-person team competition with a new format every six holes (6-6-6).  We will be playing from the GREEN TEES.  Maximum score of 10 on any hole.  All drop zones will be in effect as this can be a very challenging course. Drop zones are located on #14 (drop zone located between the restroom and the green) and #16 (drop zone available if you land in the sand bunker in front of the green.  It is marked as ground under repair.)

NOTE:  If you can find your ball, you are permitted to play your ball out of the natural areas on holes #13 and #14.  If you can’t find your ball, you must use rule 17 or drop zone (#14).

Out of Bounds: If your ball is lost or out of bounds, you must take stroke-and-distance relief by adding one penalty stroke and playing a ball from where the previous stroke was made (Rule 14.6).

We will be awarding prizes to the first, second and third place teams.  We will also have two closest to the pins awarding one place on each #4 and #17.  Please bring your scorecard to Pam.  No need to exchange scorecards with playing opponents.  Golf is a game of honesty and integrity so we trust you will designate the correct score!

Holes 1-6 Scramble.  Each player tees off.  Choose the best shot.  Drop within one club length, one putter head on the green.  You must stay in the same condition as the shot you choose.  For instance, if in the rough, you must stay in the rough.  You will need to take at least two drives from each partner. Place an “X” on the scorecard for player drives.  Notate your gross score on card on the line with your pops, and then adjust if you have any pops and notate your net score on the designated line.

Holes 7-12 Alternate shot.  You must choose which player will tee off from the odd and which from even holes. Place an “X” next to the player teeing off.  You then alternate hitting the same ball until it’s holed out.  Again, notate your gross score and then your net score.

Holes 13-18, Four Ball or better ball.  Each player plays their own ball.  You will use the player’s best net score.  If you are out of the hole, pick up and cheer your partner on.

Remember to keep up with the group in front of you.  If you get behind, two of you go to the next hole and tee off if you can (the ability to do this may depend on the format you are playing).  Don’t worry about the group behind you.  Be aware of your positioning.  Pace of play shouldn’t be a problem in this format, but it’s going to be hot so let’s get done as soon as we can.  Most importantly stay hydrated and have fun.  See you in the bar.
