COVID-19 CHAMPIONSHIP POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

All contestants should be familiar with the policies and procedures in place.

 

FIELD LIMIT

Amateur – 48 players

Mid-Amateur – 24 players

 

ENTRY DEADLINE

Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by WA Golf by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022.

 

REFUND POLICY

Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, refunds for documented and approved medical reasons are subject to a $25 service charge. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one pairings have been released.

 

COURSE YARDAGE

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the championship portal and will be emailed to players.

Women’s Amateur Yardage: 6,221 yards, par-72

Women’s Mid-Amateur Yardage: 5,997 yards, par-72

 

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with WA Golf at Moses Lake Golf Club Club prior to the championship. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:

SUNDAY, JUNE 19:   11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

MONDAY, JUNE 20: 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round one and two starting times will be released on Tuesday, June 7. Contestants will be re-paired by gross scores for the final round, with the leaders starting last. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the WA Golf website (WAgolf.org), on the Championship Portal and will be emailed to each player.

 

SCHEDULE

54-hole stroke play (gross only). In the event of a tie for the championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play to determine the winner.

MONDAY, JUNE 20:                     Starting times off the #1 tee from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

TUESDAY, JUNE 21:                     Starting times off the #1 tee from 10:50 a.m. – 1:20 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22:                                                Starting times off the #1 tee from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

 

PRACTICE ROUND

Contestants may play one complimentary practice round prior to the championship. Practice rounds will be available on Sunday, June 19 after 12:00 p.m. for out of town contestants. Local contestants can play a practice round between June 13 – June 18. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Tee times can be made by calling Moses Lake Golf Club’s golf shop at (509) 765-5049 beginning on June 6 after entries have closed and field is set.

 

FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)

Monday, June 20: Grab and go breakfast items from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The restaurant and lounge will be open for limited menu options from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday, June 21 – Wednesday, June 22: Grab and go breakfast options from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The restaurant and lounge will be open for full menu service from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

 

BOTTLED WATER

WA Golf will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play. 

 

CONTESTANTS’ LUNCH

WA Golf will host a meal for all competitors following the second round on Tuesday, June 21 with indoor seating, outdoor seating and to-go options. Players may eat anytime between 11:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. off a limited menu.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

All major credit cards and cash.

 

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop and driving range will be open from 6:30 a.m. to dusk each day.

 

RANGE BALLS

Warm up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.

 

CARTS

Carts will be available to Mid-Amateur participants for $20 per rider per day and will be collected by WA Golf during registration

 

Women’s Amateur Championship: The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect.

  

SPECTATOR CARTS

To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by WA Golf. 


CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

WA Golf is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at WA Golf Championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the WA Golf Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, WA Golf will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available. 

Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

 

Spectators with transportation needs must contact the WA Golf Championship Department prior to the championship. This full policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies.

 

PUSH CARTS

Push carts will not be available to rent.

 

CADDIES

Host club caddies will not be available. A player may provide his or her own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.

 

PRIZES

All prizes will be awarded according to 54-hole scores. The Women’s Amateur is gross only. The Women’s Mid-Amateur is gross and net.

Awards will be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the championship. 

 

AWARDS CEREMONY

WA Golf will host awards ceremonies on Thursday, June 17 immediately upon completion of play in each championship.

 

EXEMPTIONS

Women’s Amateur – Champion will receive an exemption into the 2023 Washington Champion of Champions, the 2023 Washington Women’s Amateur Championship and the 2023 PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship.

 

Women’s Mid-Amateur – Champion will receive an exemption into the 2023 Washington Champion of Champions, the 2023 Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship and the 2023 PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.

 

PERFORMANCE POINTS LIST

Points for the Washington Women’s Amateur are allocated as follows: Champion (100), Runner-up (75), Top-5 (50), Top-10 (25), Top-15 (15), and Top-20 (5) finishers.

 

Points for the Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur are allocated as follows: Awarded to Champion (50), Runner-up (25), and Top-5 (5) finishers.

GHIN SCORE POSTING

WA Golf will post competition scores for all players to the USGA GHIN System.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

WA Golf expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming

 

The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.

 

UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

After the entry deadline and during play of the championship, players must notify WA Golf and state his or her need to withdraw. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying WA Golf or without having sufficient reason) will not be granted entry into any future WA Golf Championship for a minimum of two years.

 

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s Pace of Play Policy, which is in effect at all championships.

 

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s 2022 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.

 

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT

Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
