TEAM ROSTER:

Team Captains must email their lineup of 7 players (six amateurs and one professional) to Josh Boyles (jboyles@ncga.org) and Rick Leoncio (rleoncio@ncga.org) by 12:00 noon on Monday, December 6th. Please identify professional when submitting lineup.

 

REGISTRATION:

There will be no formal registration at this event. All players taking a golf cart must check in with a golf course staff member upon arrival to receive a golf cart.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:

Starting times and pairings will be emailed to Team Captains and posted online at ncga.org no later than Tuesday, December 7th. Starting times will range from 8:20 – 9:20 AM. All players should be at the starting tee at least ten minutes prior to their starting times. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.

 

FORMAT:

The format for the California Scratch League Championship is a 16-point game within each pairing group of four players as outlined in the 2021 Scratch League Rules of Play. All play is without handicaps except for seeding the pairing order from low current handicap index to high index as of the December 6th revision. Stroke Play Rules apply with the exceptions set forth in the 2021 Scratch League Rules of Play.

 

TEES:

All Play will be from the NCGA tee markers (see Yardages sheet)

CR: 73.7 / Slope: 143 / 6,726 yards / Par 72

 

Note: Female participants will play one tee forward from the yardages described above on each hole.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

Players may make arrangements for practice rounds at their own expense. Please call The Links at Spanish Bay Pro Shop at (831) 647-7495.

 

PRO SHOP and DRIVING RANGE:

The Pro Shop and Driving Range will be open at 6:30 AM. Range balls and golf carts will be provided compliments of the NCGA on the day of the competition.

 

The driving range is not on site at Spanish Bay. The driving range is a short drive to The Pebble Beach Golf Academy & Practice Facility. The address is 3260 Stevenson Drive, Pebble Beach, CA 93953.

 

FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:

The restaurant will be open at 7:00 AM. Cash and major credit cards accepted for all purchases (credit card or room charge preferred). Lunch will be provided to all players immediately following the round.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

  • The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and R&A govern play;

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:

Carts are included. There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk. Pull carts and push carts are allowed. Spectator carts are prohibited.

 

TIE-BREAKING:

In case of a tie between two teams at the end of the competition, the teams tied will select two players to play a sudden-death aggregate playoff immediately following the conclusion of play.  Play will be in one group of four using the 16-point game format.  After completion of the first playoff hole, the highest point total of both teammates will determine who moves on.  If still tied, all players will continue on to an additional sudden-death playoff hole(s).

 

In case of a tie between three teams at the end competition, the teams tied will select three players to play a sudden-death aggregate playoff immediately following the conclusion of play.  Play will be in three groups of three using the 9-point game format.  After completion of the first playoff hole, the highest point total of all three teammates will determine who moves on.  If all teams are still tied after the first playoff hole, all players from those teams will continue to an additional sudden-death playoff hole(s).  If two teams are still tied after the first playoff hole (or additional playoff holes), the teams tied will select two players to play the next playoff hole(s) using the 16-point game format.
