FIELD SIZE

Maximum field size = 120 players.  During registration, players must select to compete in the Championship or Tournament division.  The final field will be determined at the close of entries.  However, all players selecting to play in the Championship will be accepted at the close of entries if that total is less than 120.  Tourament division players will fill the remainder of the 120 person field.  If more than 120 players select the Championship division, the field will be determined by low handicap index, in addition to any exempt players. 

ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open to female amateur golfers that are members of a GSGA member club with an active handicap index, and a resident of the state of Georgia.

FORMAT

54 holes of individual stroke play.

*Tournament division will be flighted by handicap indexes. 

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call TPC Sugarloaf to reserve your practice round starting time after you have received your acceptance confirmation.  Practice round cart and range fee is $50 plus tax. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted.

  • Tuesday - Thursday, anytime based on availability.
  • Sunday, after 1:00 p.m.

Yardages will be posted online before the close of entries and at the host club.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open by 6:30 a.m. each day of competition.

 

Thanks to our partner, Club PT, who will be on-site each day of the Championship to provide PT services to any players needing assistance fixing any aches and pains or helping stretch you out.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on June 23.  

REGISTRATION

Formal registration will be held on site on Sunday, June 26 from 10:00-4:00 and on Monday from 7:00-12:00.

CARTS/CADDIES

Practice round cart and range fees are $50 plus tax. Tournament round cart and range fees are included in the entry fee. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted.

 

Players may provide their own caddie.  Players/Caddies are subject to the GSGA cart policy.  Either the player or caddie may ride in a cart, but not both at the same time.  Both may also walk.  Push/pull carts are allowed.

FOOD SERVICE/PLAYER HOSPITALITY

Food service will be available at the halfway house and in the grill throughout the competition. Lunch will be provided during rounds one and two courtesy of GSGA.

 

A Championship Player Welcome Party will be held on Sunday evening, June 26 from 6:00-8:00 at TPC Sugarloaf.  Players are encouraged to attend and may bring one guest at no charge.  Additional guests may RSVP and be included for a fee of $50. Once the field is finalized a formal invitiation will be sent. Dress code for this event is come as you are (golf attire, club casual, no t-shirts or jeans please). Dinner and drinks will be provided. A brief program will begin around 7:00 p.m.  All players are encouraged to attend. More details to be provided.

 

 

PRIZES

Gift certificates will be awarded to the top finishers in each division/flights.  Amounts to be determined after final division field size is final.  The following trophies will be awarded:

 

  • Champion - Eleanor M. Keeler Memorial Trophy
  • Low 18-Hole Score of the Championship - Ceil Maclaurin Trophy
  • Low 54-Hole Score by a player over 50 years of age - Burns Cup

 

The champion will also receive an exemption into the Sea Island Women's Amateur at Sea Island Golf Club to be played July 18-21.

REFUND POLICY

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or (800) 949-4742 or via email.
