Rules of Golf Workshop

The Rules of Golf workshop is designed to teach all 24 Rules of Golf as well as principals and interpretations.  It will also cover how to effectively navigate both the rules and guidebook and look at the principals behind the rules of golf. 

 

*Participants must be fully vaccinated or provide a negative test result each week of class.  Masks will be required.

  • January 6th
    • Introductions
    • Studying Learning and Understanding the Rules of Golf.
  • January 13th
    • Rule 1 – The Game, Player Conduct and The Rules
    • Rule 2 – The Course & Grouped Definitions (Areas of The Course, People on The Course)
  • January 20th
    • Rule 8 – Course Played as It Is Found
  • January 27th
    • Rule 3 – The Competition (Match Play and Stroke Play, Individual)
    • Rule 4 – The Player’s Equipment (Clubs, Balls, Equipment)
  • February 3rd
    • Rule 5 – Playing the Round (Meaning of Round, Groups, Practice, Unreasonable Delay, Stopping Play)
    • Rule 6 – Playing A Hole, Starting a Hole, Teeing Area, Order of Play, and Completing a Hole. (Rules 6.1 Through 6.2 and Rules 6.4 Through 6.5)
  • February 10th
    • Rule 14, Part 1 – Procedures for Ball: Marking, Lifting and Cleaning; Replacing on Spot; Dropping in Relief Area (Rules 14.1 Through 14.3)
    • Rule 14, Part 2 – Correcting Mistakes and Playing from The Wrong Place (Rule 14.4 Through 14.7)
  • February 17th
    • Status of The Ball Definitions, Rule 6.3 Ball Used in Play of Hole, and Rule 14.4 When Player’s Ball Back in Play after Original Ball Was Out of Play
    • Rule 7 – Ball Search: Finding and Identifying Ball
  • February 24th - Class will be 5:00pm-7:00pm
    • Rule 9 – Ball Played as It Lies; Ball at Rest Lifted or Moved
  • March 3rd
    • Rule 10 – Preparing for And Making a Stroke; Advice and Help; Caddies
  • March 10th
    • Rule 12 – Bunkers
    • Rule 13 – Putting Green (Including the Flagstick)
  • March 17th
    • Rule 11 – Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person, Animal or Object; Deliberate Actions to Affect Ball in Motion
    • Rule 15 – Relief from Loose Impediments and Movable Obstructions (Including Ball or Ball-Marker Helping or Interfering with Play
  • March 24th
    • Rule 16 – Relief from Abnormal Course Conditions (Including Immovable Obstructions), Dangerous Animal Condition, Embedded Ball
    • Rule 17 – Penalty Areas
  • March 31st
    • Rule 18 – Stroke and Distance Relief; Ball Lost or Out of Bounds; Provisional Ball
    • Rule 19 – Unplayable Ball
  • April 7th
    • Rule 20 – Resolving Rules Issues During Round; Rulings by Referee and Committee (Jake)
