Event Resources: 

 

Entries: Entries for all USGA qualifiers must be submitted through the USGA website at USGA.org.

Eligibility:

Entries are open to amateur golfers with an up-to-date Handicap Index based on ratings for men not exceeding 2.4 under the USGA Handicap System. A Handicap Index must be issued from a "golf club" (as defined in the USGA Handicap System Manual) that is authorized to use the USGA Handicap System. The USGA accepts an up-to-date handicap issued from the international body of golf that would be equivalent to a USGA Handicap Index within the prescribed limit for entry into the Championship. For this Championship, ant reference to gender applies to all genders.

 

Tee Times:  Starting at 6:24 AM

 

Practice Rounds:  Practice rounds can be booked by contacting the Boulder Creek pro shop. Rates are below...

  • Before 11:00 AM - $65
  • Between 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM - $55
  • After 1:00 PM - $40

 

Carts for Caddies: Caddies are permitted for this qualifier and caddies are able to rent golf carts if they wish to do so. There will be a cart fee each day for any caddie who wishes to take a golf cart. The cart fee is $25/day and will be paid directly to the Boulder Creek pro shop on the day of. Carts will only be provided to caddies after they have checked in and paid the cart fee.

NOTE: This is for caddies only. Per USGA rules and regulations, players will be required to walk the course at all times.

 

Course Rotation: Coyote Run (Front 9) to Desert Hawk (Back 9)

 

Projected Yardages: Please note that the below yardages are only projected and are subject to change based on a variety of factors including weather, course conditions, committee discretion, etc...

 

 

Spectators: Spectators are permitted for this qualifier but must walk at all times. There will be no spectator carts available, no exceptions. 

 

Golf Balls; Driver Heads:

Only brands of golf balls on the most current List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300. See Model Local Rules G-1 and G-3. The one ball Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-4.

 

Clubs: Grooves:

In Sectional Qualifying and in the Championship proper, the Local Rule as prescribed by Section 8 of the Committee Proceduresis in effect. Model Local Rule G-2.

 

Caddies:

Qualifying Rounds: A player may provide his own caddie. If he wishes to have the host club furnish a caddie, he should ask the Official in Charge because sufficient caddies may not be available at the host club.       

A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.

 

Withdrawal from Qualifying:

A player who wishes to withdraw from Qualifying must notify the USGA (908-326-1950 or via e-mail at champs@usga.org) and the Official in Charge (Tim Brand tbrand@snga.org or 702-830-7972) prior to their scheduled qualifying round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future USGA competitions.

 

Performance in Sectional Qualifying:

If a player fails to return a score within 10 strokes of the USGA Course Rating, future entries for a U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur, or U.S. Senior Open Championship may be declined if documentation is not provided demonstrating that the player is capable of competing at the national championship level. Please note that players who "no card" are subject to receive a letter from the USGA under the same guidelines as those who do not return a score within 10 strokes of the course rating.

 

Transportation:

Players must walk during all Sectional and Championship proper rounds. But consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a disabled player or caddie may be permitted to use a golf cart as an accommodation to his or her disability for those events where golf carts are not allowed. As required by the ADA, the USGA will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis.
