Practice Round:

Practice rounds for this qualifier are available on either Saturday August 6th or Sunday August 7th. Please see the below information for the rates and restrictions on these practice rounds.

  • Player may only book one practice round.
  • Tee times for practice rounds are available after 12:00 PM on either 8/6 or 8/7.
  • Practice round rate is $65 per person. Player may bring one other person to play with them if they wish. That person's rate will also be $65.
  • Contact the Spanish Trail golf shop at (702) 364-0357 to book your practice round.

 

Caddie Carts: 

For this qualifier, caddies may rent a golf cart. The cart rental fee is $25. Caddies will have to pay the cart fee in the pro shop on the day of the qualifier before they will be allowed to take a cart.

NOTE: While this is an option for caddies, players must walk the golf course at all times per USGA Mid-Amateur rules and regulations.

 

Projected Yardages: 

Please note that these yardages are only projected. The committee in charge of the competition reserves the right to adjust any yardages based on a variety of factors including weather, course conditions, committee discretion, etc... In addition, below are a few items to note.

  • The yardages below are based on a Sunrise-Canyon course rotation
  • Please note that Sunrise Hole #7 will play as a par 4 for this qualifier

 

 

 

Eligibility:

Entries are open to amateur golfers who will have reached their twenty-fifth birthday by September 10, 2022 and have an up-to-date Handicap Index based on ratings for men not exceeding 3.4 under the USGA Handicap System. A Handicap Index must be issued from a "golf club" (as defined in the USGA Handicap System Manual) that is authorized to use the USGA Handicap System. The USGA accepts an up-to-date handicap issued from the international body of golf that would be equivalent to a USGA Handicap Index within the prescribed limit for entry into the Championship. For this Championship, ant reference to gender applies to all genders.

 

Golf Balls; Driver Heads:

Only brands of golf balls on the most current List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300. See Model Local Rules G-1 and G-3. The one ball Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-4.

 

Clubs: Grooves:

In Sectional Qualifying and in the Championship proper, the Local Rule as prescribed by Section 8 of the Committee Proceduresis in effect. Model Local Rule G-2.

 

Caddies:

Qualifying Rounds: A player may provide his own caddie. If he wishes to have the host club furnish a caddie, he should ask the Official in Charge because sufficient caddies may not be available at the host club.       

A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.

 

Withdrawal from Qualifying:

A player who wishes to withdraw from Qualifying must notify the USGA (908-326-1950 or via e-mail at champs@usga.org) and the Official in Charge (Tim Brand tbrand@snga.org or 702-830-7972) prior to their scheduled qualifying round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future USGA competitions.

 

Performance in Sectional Qualifying:

If a player fails to return a score within 10 strokes of the USGA Course Rating, future entries for a U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur, or U.S. Senior Open Championship may be declined if documentation is not provided demonstrating that the player is capable of competing at the national championship level. Please note that players who "no card" are subject to receive a letter from the USGA under the same guidelines as those who do not return a score within 10 strokes of the course rating.

 

Transportation:

Players and caddies must walk during all Sectional and Championship proper rounds. But consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a disabled player or caddie may be permitted to use a golf cart as an accommodation to his or her disability for those events where golf carts are not allowed. As required by the ADA, the USGA will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis.
