Open to male amateur golfers who are GSGA members, residents of the state of Georgia and must not have a handicap index exceeding 10.0. The field of 144 players will compete over 72 holes of stroke play and will cut to low 60 and ties after 36 holes.

The winner of the Georgia Amateur Championship will receive an exemption into the Jones Cup Invitational and in 2022 a special exemption into the 116th Southern Amateur, part of the Elite Amateur Golf Series, to be played at Sea Island Golf Club on July 13-16.
