PLAYER INFORMATION

 

SITE - The Landings Club – Deer Creek  

 

DATE - July 7-10, 2022

 

FIELD SIZE - 144 players

 

 

FORMAT - 72 holes of individual stroke play. After 36 holes of play, the field will be cut to the low 60 players and ties.

 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS - One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call The Landings Club – Deer Creek (912) 598-3505 to reserve your practice round starting time.  DO NOT CALL MORE THAN FOUR DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR DESIRED DATE OF PLAY. Practice round fee is $50. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted.

  • Before July 6, weekdays, and weekends after 2:00 p.m., based on availability.
  • Wednesday, July 6, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

 

YARDAGES & TEES - A practice yardage sheet is available on the event portal under the PLAYER INFORMATION section. Practice yardage sheets will also be available at the club. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

 

 

PLAYER HOSPITALITY - A Championship Welcome Party will be held on Wednesday, July 6 from approximately 6:00-8:00 p.m. All players are welcome. This event will be held at the Plantation/Palmetto clubhouse, a short drive from the Deer Creek course. Locker room facilities with showers will be available at The Oakridge Wellness Center. Dress code for this event is come as you are (golf attire, club casual, no t-shirts or jeans please). Dinner and drinks will be provided. A brief program will begin around 7:30 p.m.  All players are encouraged to attend. One guest per player is covered by GSGA.  Additional guests are required to pay $50.

 

All players making the cut will be treated to an ice cream social courtesy of Leopold's Ice Cream on Saturday afternoon, July 9. Ice cream options will be served near the scoreboard.

 

 

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE - The golf shop and practice facilities will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. each day of competition. 

 

STARTING TIMES - Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on July 1st. 

 

REGISTRATION - Formal registration will be held in the Fazio room of the Deer Creek clubhouse on Wednesday, July 6 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 8 from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If you are not able to register in person during this time, please call The Landings Club – Deer Creek golf shop to confirm you will be playing in round one on Thursday. 

 

CARTS - Practice round fee is $50 plus tax. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted. This is a walking only Championship.  Provisions are in place should GSGA and the Committee deem carts are necessary due to severe heat or the potential for severe weather on any individual day or throughout the entire Championship. Players with medical needs may request a golf cart by submitting an application to GSGA for use of a golf cart during the competition. SPECTATOR CARTS - Motorized mobility scooters are permitted to be rented through GSGA. Spectator golf carts are NOT available.  Interested parties must contact GSGA by June 27 to arrange for rental of a mobility scooter.

 

 

CADDIES - Caddies are permitted. Players may provide their own caddie. Push/pull carts are permitted. 

 

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY - The GSGA Rules of Play, Pace of Play and Spectator Cart Policy shall be in effect. Click here to view policies.

 

DRESS CODE - Proper golf attire must be worn in all phases of this Championship. No tank tops, tee shirts, or blue jeans will be allowed. Competitors must be neat in respect to personal grooming and clothing. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Shirts must have collars.

 

FOOD SERVICE - Food service will be available throughout the Championship at the Deer Creek clubhouse. Limited breakfast items (breakfast sandwiches, fruit, etc.) will be available each day. Lunch will be provided complimentary for all players Thursday-Saturday. Caddies and spectators may purchase lunch from the provided buffet. Credit cards are accepted for miscellaneous food and beverage purchases.

 

 

PRIZES - Gift certificates will be awarded to the low 20 finishers. The champion will also receive an additional crystal trophy and their name engraved on the Robert H. Martin trophy.

 

HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS - The following accommodations and courtesy room blocks have been arranged for players/guests. Please use the information/links below to make your reservations by June 15. Direct booking links also listed in the TRAVEL section of the event portal.

 

DOWNTOWN:

 

Courtyard by Marriott Downtown/Historic Savannah (HOST HOTEL) – Rate: $199/night, discounted valet parking $20, reservations must be made by June 15 or rooms will be released to the general public at regular rates.

 

Holiday Inn Downtown/Historic Savannah – Rate: $159 King/$169 Queen, discounted valet parking $30, reservations must be made by June 15 or rooms will be released to the general public at regular rates.

 

MIDTOWN:

 

Courtyard by Marriott Midtown – Rate: $169/night, rate includes complimentary self-parking, reservations must be made by June 15 or rooms will be released to the general public at regular rates.

 

Tru by Hilton Midtown – Rate: $199, rate includes breakfast and complimentary self-parking, reservations must be made by June 27 or rooms will be released to the general public at regular rates.

 

REFUND POLICY - A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or (800) 949-4742 or via email.
