2022 RDGA Richard Wood Kickoff Tournament

START TIME: All players tee off No.1 beginning at 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
ENTRY FEE: $200 / two-person team
FIELD SIZE: 144 players; 72 two-person teams

RDGA HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDANCE for 2022: The RDGA is continuing to promote a safe and healthy environment at each of our tournaments, reminding all golfers to take the necessary precautions and not play if showing any symptoms or if previously exposed to COVID-19 within the prior 7 days. We also recommend following the most up-to-date COVID-19 guidance from New York State, including the points outlined at coronavirus.health.ny.gov. CLICK HERE for more information. In accordance with these guidelines, the RDGA will NOT be requiring players to sign a COVID waiver form prior to each 2022 RDGA Tournament.
FORMAT: The RDGA Richard Wood Kickoff Two Person Scramble features 18 holes of stroke play, with two person teams competing in a scramble format. Each player must use his/her tee shot at least six times during the 18 holes. The team records one score on each hole as their team score. The event will feature 4 separate divisions: Men's Championship (White Tee, played at scratch), Men's Senior (Blue Tee, with Gross and Net competitions), Men's Regular (Blue Tee, with Gross and Net competitions) and Women's (Combo Tee - at 5,280 yards, with Gross and Net competitions). Junior players are eligible to participate in any flight except senior.
With RDGA District Championship exemptions being given to the top two teams (and ties) in the Men's Championship Division and the first place team (including ties) in the Men's Senior Division (Gross Score results), this will be your opportunity to qualify for the 2022 RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Jr. Memorial at the Country Club of Rochester!
ABOUT: The RDGA Richard Wood Kickoff Two Person Scramble began as the RDGA Two Person Senior Best Ball in 2019, in part as a way to offer casual competition for senior RDGA Members, as well as a tribute to the late Richard Wood, a past RDGA President and long-time volunteer who passed away in 2013. This year, we pay tribute to his memory and devotion to golf in Rochester by naming our season-opening Two Person Scramble in his honor.
This event is open to ALL amateur golfers - men and women, seniors and juniors - with an active GHIN® Handicap Index® through a Rochester District Golf Association Member Club. If you've never played in an actual golf tournament before - or if you are a seasoned veteran - this is a fun way to enjoy the RDGA tournament experience!
