2022 Cobb-Whalen Cup

FIELD: 24 Players

• 12 SNGA Players
• 12 NNGA Players

 

ELIGIBILITY: Must be an active member of the SNGA or NNGA. The 12-person team that represents the SNGA in the Cobb-Whalen Cup will be determined by the 2022 Cobb-Whalen points list. The last event in which to earn points for the 2022 Cobb-Whalen Cup will be the 2022 Nevada State Net Amateur Championship.

 

EVENT DETAILS: 

• Practice round - Sunday September 25th starting @ 1:00 PM
• Monday September 28th. 36-Holes. Team match in the morning and another team match in the afternoon.
• Tuesday September 29th. Final matches. Individual Match Play. The Cup will be awarded after the individual matches conclude.

 

FORMAT: Three competition match play rounds consisting of:

• Four-Ball Match Play (Handicaps based off low player in the foursome)
• Modified Alternate Shot Match Play - Both team members hit their tee shots, the best shot is selected, and the team member whose shot was not selected plays the next shot. The team members continue to alternate shots until the ball is holed or the hole is conceded. (50% of combined team course handicap played off lowest team handicap)
• Individual Match Play (100% of course handicap played off lowest player of the match)

 

SCORING: Scoring is Ryder Cup format.

• Team win receives one (1) point
• Team halve receives one half (.5) point
• Team loss receives zero (0) points

 

OTHER INFO: If you are eligible to compete in the Cobb-Whalen Cup, you will be contacted once the standings in the point race have been finalized.
