41st Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Championship

Entries Close: 6/2/2022 at 5:00pm

 

Eligibility:
Entries are open to amateur golfers who are bona fide public course players at a public Mass Golf member club (a course/club that provides playing opportunities for the general public seven days a week) and maintain an up-to-date Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 12.0 (at the time of registration). Players who have playing privileges or who have an established handicap at any private club are ineligible, with the exception of:

a) Players competing on a school golf team, provided those privileges are limited to scheduled practices and competitions; or
b) Players employed by a private club, provided their playing privileges
I. Are limited in nature;
II. Are consistent with those offered other employees;
III. Do not allow participation in any club tournaments; and
IV. No handicap is maintained at the private club.

 

Entry Procedures:

Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.

 

Format:

Competition will be in two stages;
1. Sectional Qualifying - 18 Holes at Stroke Play (For all except Exempt entrants).
2. Championship Proper - 36 Holes at Stroke Play

 

Field:

The Championship Proper field is limited to 120 players (approx.; based on qualifying ties).
 

Exemptions (Upon receipt of the online registration and fee, the players in the following categories are exempt from Sectional Qualifying); 2022 Amateur Public Links Championship Exemptions

 

Schedule:

Sectional Qualifying; June 20 - July 7

Championship Proper;
Round 1 - August 10 (18 Holes)
***The low 60 scorers and ties after 18 holes will continue play on August 11
Round 2 - August 11 (18 Holes)
Any tie for first place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.

 

Caddies & Automotive Transportation:

Players may use caddies, pull carts (at the host clubs(s) discretion) and/or automotive transportation during Sectional Qualifying and Championship Proper.

 

Food & Beverage:

A complimentary luncheon will be provided for all competitors on August 10.

 

Starting Times:

Qualifying Round Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries.

Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the last qualifier.

 

Practice Rounds:

Practice rounds privileges are at the discretion of the qualifying site and championship proper host club(s). Mass Golf will provide details surrounding the availability of practice rounds ahead of the scheduled event; please refrain from contacting the host clubs until specific details are received from Mass Golf.

 

Prizes:

The Ray C. Bump, Jr. trophy will be presented to the Champion. Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy:

Competitors who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office (email preferred). Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified seven (7) days prior to the event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven (7) days prior to the event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event.
