Notice to Players
119th WPGA Open Championship
June 20-22, 2022
The Club at Nevillewood, Nevillewood, PA 

 

 

Format: 54-holes of stroke play. The field will be cut to 32 & ties following the completion of Round 2. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for first place in the Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee as soon as practicable.

 

Championship Schedule:

Monday, June 20, 2022 – Round One, starting times begin at 8:00 AM (18-Holes of Stroke Play)

Tuesday, June 21, 2022 – Round Two, starting times begin at 8:00 AM (18-Holes of Stroke Play; Cut to top 32 scores & ties)

Wednesday, June 22, 2022 – Round Three, starting times begin at 8:00 AM (18-Holes of Stroke Play for the top 32 & ties after 36 holes)

 

Tee Markers: Play is from the Blue WPGA tee markers.  The course will play roughly 7,100 yards depending on conditions and yardages will vary from round to round.

 

Practice: Practice rounds are available for the Championship and are at the discretion of the Pro Shop. The cost of the practice round is $50 plus cart fee. Practice Rounds are available Thursday, June 16, Friday, June 17, Saturday, June 18, and Sunday June 19 after 3:00 PM. Please contact the golf shop at (412) 276-4653.  The practice range will open one hour prior to the first tee time each morning of the competition.


Transportation/Caddies: Walking is required for the championship. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties. Caddie expenses are the responsibility of the player. Push carts are permitted for the competition.


Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Pittsburgh areas. You may also create an account with Affinity Travel Benefits here and find lodging to close to the tournament site on the Association Tournaments tab.


Food & Beverage: Whole fruits, coffee, and juice will be available for players prior to each round. Lunch will be provided for players only each day. Bottled water will be available on-course during all rounds for both players and caddies.  All other food & beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20).  A four-point checkpoint system will be in place for the competition. Please review the WPGA Pace of Play Policy.

 

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players should immediately return to the clubhouse or the nearest available shelter. In the event competitors are in these shelters during an immediate suspension of play, competitors and caddies are to remain in the shelters until the committee decides to either resume play or bring everyone back to the clubhouse.

 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

 

Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

 

Spectator Info— No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office regarding the pre-approval process and ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability.
