Weather Contingencies

The decision to suspend and/or resume play will be determined by the Committee/LTGC and will be indicated by a long blast of the siren. If, due to lightning or other causes of emergency, the Committee/LTGC deems it prudent to

suspend play, the following modification will be in effect:

• When play is suspended by the Committee/LTGC, all players shall discontinue play immediately, mark the position of your ball, and shall not resume play until the Committee/LTGC has ordered a resumption of play.

• PLEASE NOTE: This modification takes away the option that would normally allow the player to complete play of the hole being played.

• Nine-Hole Matches - If matches can’t be completed, holes not played will be halved.

• Shootouts - If the preliminary shootout can’t be played, all teams that qualified for the shootout will split the shootout payout. If the preliminary shootout is completed but the final shootout is cancelled or cut short, the remaining teams will split the remaining pot.

LTMGC LOCAL RULES

USGA Rules will govern all play in addition to the following:

  • Out of Bounds - Where there are no white stakes or white lines marking out of bounds the following applies: Boundary objects, fences, streets are the boundary edges of the course.
  • Holes #6 & #12 - If your second shot enters the water you may drop a ball, under penalty of one stroke in the dropping zone.
  • Holes #8 & #12 - The rocks to the left of the cart path between the path and the boundary fence are considered part of the cart path and relief may be taken without penalty if the ball is not out of bounds.
  • All flowerbeds are no play zones and are treated as ground under repair.
  • In case of “NO SHOWS,” the team that fails to play will be disqualified for that match and receive zero (0) points. Their opponents will receive 5 points. If one member of the team plays, that team may accumulate as many points as possible.
  • A player may pick up any time his score will not affect the outcome of a given hole. The player should record the score he would most likely have made if he had completed the hole.
  • The USGA permits the use of electronic devices that measure distance only. However, the USGA does not permit the use of devices that take into consideration wind speed, gradient, or temperature. Breech of this rule is disqualification.
