USGA and Lake Arbor Local Rules

 

***When a rule is in doubt or unknown, please play a second ball and the ruling will be made after the round is over by the pro shop (Blake or Lee).***

 

WATER HAZARDS: RED or YELLOW stakes and painted lines are a 1 stroke penalty: (USGA Rule 26) RED/Lateral Water Hazard: a) Play another ball from the original position or, b) as far behind the point where the ball entered the hazard keeping the point the it entered the hazard in a line to the pin or, c) drop a ball 2 club lengths from the margin of the hazard no closer to the hole.

YELLOW/ Water Hazard: Same as a) or b) above.

 

The following Hole by Hole local rules will govern Lake Arbor Men’s Club play:

 

HOLE #1 – The lake to the right of the green is played as a lateral water hazard, see above. The driving range fence poles are the OB Boundary, hit again from the tee and take a one stroke penalty.

 

HOLE #2 – The ponds in front of #7 and #8 greens are lateral water hazards when playing #2, see above. The split rail fence behind #2 green is OB, hit again from the original spot and take a 1 stroke penalty. The Green Power box on the left side of the fairway is an immovable obstruction – one club length free drop from nearest point of relief for swing and stance, not line of flight.

 

HOLE #3 – The maintenance yard by the bathroom is OB, unless right of the white stakes.

 

HOLE #4 – The chain link fence on the left is the OB marker. A ball lodged in the netting that is identifiable will get a free drop directly below that spot with relief for swing and stance.  The rock area behind the green is in play, no free drop.

 

HOLE #5 – Play the concrete ditch and iron grating as immovable obstructions, free drop. The rock area by #3 tee box is considered in play, no free drop.

 

HOLE #6 – Any ball to the right of the cart path is OB. A ball on the cart path or against the curbing is considered an immovable obstruction, free drop.

 

HOLE #7 – The maintenance fence on the OB boundary. If your ball in on the grassy area between the fence and the cart path you may drop to the fairway side of the path 2 club lengths no closer to the hole, no penalty. The rock drain left of the green is a water hazard as well as the pond. Drop out and take a one stroke penalty. The pond in front of #8 is a lateral hazard when playing #7.

 

HOLE #8 – The pond in front of #8 is a water hazard. The lake to the left of #8 is a lateral hazard.

 

HOLE #9 – The street is OB. The area between the cart path and the street is considered in play. The rocks past the green on the right side are OB.

 

HOLE #10 – The concrete drainage ditch in an immovable obstruction, free drop. The Driving Range netting is the OB boundary. The area left of the trees from the 150 yard marker is in play. 

 

HOLE #11 – The fence and Brick column bases on the right are the OB boundary. The brick columns are not played as immovable obstructions, no free drop.

 

HOLE #12 – The fence and Brick column bases on the right are the OB boundary. The brick columns are not played as immovable obstructions, no free drop. The protection fence right of the tee box is considered an immovable obstruction, free drop 2 club lengths no closer to the hole.

 

HOLE #13 – The area between the cart path and the fence is considered in play. The fence behind the green is the OB boundary. If a ball goes over the fence but comes to rest in play on #14 to ball is considered in play and a penalty will not be assessed.

 

HOLE #14 – The French drainage ditch on the left side of the fairway is a Free Drop. The fence and Brick column bases are the OB boundary. The brick columns are not played as immovable obstructions, no free drop.

 

HOLE #16 – The area between the cart path and the fence is in play, no free drop.

 

HOLE #17 & #18 – If your ball in on the grassy area between the fence and the cart path you may drop to the fairway side of the path 2 club lengths no closer to the hole, no penalty.
