48th C.R. Miller Memorial Junior Match Play Invitational

This notice serves as confirmation for the 48th C.R.Miller Memorial Match Play Invitational on Wednesday, August 3, and Thursday, August 4, at Latrobe Country Club in Latrobe, PA.

 

Format: Four (4) rounds of Match Play, single elimination. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play.

 

The field is 16 contestants. There will be 8 matches in the morning of Day 1 with the winners of those matches playing 4 matches that afternoon. Day 2 will consist of the semi-final matches in the morning and the final match in the afternoon.

 

Spectator Information: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines.

 

Tee Markers: All play is from the WPGA tee markers. Latrobe Country Club will play at roughly 6,500 yards for the competition.

 

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be three hours and forty minutes (3:40). A checkpoint system will be in place for the competition.

 

Practice: Practice rounds are not available. The practice range will open at 7:15 AM each morning of the competition.

 

Transportation/Caddies: A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie. Walking is required. Latrobe CC does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties. Players may use push trolleys during the competition.

 

Food—The WPGA provides lunch for players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. Lunch will be available by cash or credit card for those accompanying the players and caddies.

 

Footwear: Metal cleats are prohibited under penalty of disqualification.

 

Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Greensburg and Ligonier areas.

 

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players are to return to the club house immediately. The WPGA will assist in returning players to the club house.

 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.
