ENTRY PROCEDURE: Contestants, including exempt players, shall apply on official OGA entry blank, or online at OHIOGOLF.org. Entry fee refund available only for medical reasons after deadline date, May 22, 2022, 11:59 p.m. All refunds are subject to a $15 service fee. Late or incomplete applications not accepted. No telephone or fax entries. All entries shall be deemed by invitation and are subject to OGA Board acceptance.
 

APPLICANTS: Must be (1) a resident of Ohio of the state of Ohio or in the case of a minor, their parent/legal guardian must be a resident, attending a college or university in Ohio, active military based in Ohio. (2) Determined by exemptions listed elsewhere in this application; or (3) Non members of OGA clubs may enter using entry form. All entrants must have a 5.6 WHS handicap index or better. In order to pay the member fee, entrants must have their WHS handicap established through an OGA member club. A list of member
clubs can be found at OHIOGOLF.org. A resident is defined as meeting four (4) of the nine (9). 1. Ownership or leasing of Ohio residence 2. Proof of payment of utilities at property for which residency is being claimed 3.Ohio homestead exemption declared on residence 4. Place of employment in Ohio 5.Ohio Driver’s License 6.Ohio Vehicle registration 7. Ohio address listed on federal income tax return filed by player 8. Has a WHS handicap at a golf club in Ohio. 9. Voter registration in Ohio.

CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION: Six sectional qualifiers—
Championship field is 144. 18 holes, Tuesday, July 26, 8:00 am start.
18 holes, Wednesday, July 27, 8:00 am start. Field cut to 60 and ties.
18 holes, Thursday, July 28, 7:45 am start. Field cut to 40 and ties.
18 holes, Friday, July 29, 7:45 am start.
Low 20 exempt for 2023 Ohio Amateur at Canterbury GC.
Awards to winner and runner-up. Top 10 will win trophies.

 

SECTIONAL QUALIFIERS: A contestant, not exempt, may compete at one qualifier.
 

REGISTRATION: All qualifiers and exempt players are required to register at Maketewah CC, Monday, July 25. A player may call the OGA to pre-register, if he is unable to get to Maketewah CC on Monday. If a player fails to register, his spot will be given to an alternate.
 

PRACTICE ROUND: Monday, July 25. NO PRE-ARRANGED PRACTICE ROUNDS. An online tee sheet will be emailed to players after the last qualifier. Players will be able to book their own practice round tee time and group.
 

CADDIES: A player must not have another player who has or will compete in the same round as his or her caddie during the round. Penalty for a breach of Local Rule: The player gets the general penalty for each hole during which he or she is helped by such a caddie. If the breach happens or continues between two holes, the player gets the general penalty for the next hole. Modern Local Rule 8H.

SHOES: During a round, a player must not wear shoes with
•Traditional spikes - that is, spikes having single or multiple points designed to penetrate deeply into the surface of the ground, regardless of whether made of metal, ceramic,
plastic or other materials.
•Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course.
TRANSPORTATION: (Ohio Amateur and Junior) Players must not ride on any form of motorized transportation during a
stipulated round except as authorized or later approved by
the Committee. See Modern Local Rule G-6 for additional
information and penalty.
