Player Information Sheet & Local Rules

  

 

History of the Women’s Play Day Shamble:

2022 is the inaugural year of this fun, non-competitive event to introduce women to Mass Golf!

 

Format:

18 holes of individual Shamble format in groups of 3 or 4.

A Shamble format is played as follows:

  • Each golfer hits a tee shot.
  • The best tee shot is selected, and everyone plays their next shot from the location of the best tee shot.
  • From there, each golfer can finish the hole playing their own ball or pick up anytime.

 

We will provide scorecards with the format on them, but no awards will be given out for lowest scores.

 

Shotgun Time:

9:00 AM Shotgun Start.

We ask all golfers to be ready at their carts by 8:50 AM as we will be doing announcements at that time and golfers will be at their designated hole to start at 9:00 AM.

                          

Tees:

Mass Golf Red Tees will be used from 5,359 yards.

 

Practice Areas: The driving range and putting green will be accessible before play starting at 6:30 AM. The Captains practice facility is located offsite, golf carts will not be permitted to travel to the facility. We advise all golfers to use the practice facility PRIOR to arriving at the golf course. The practice facility is located on Commerce Park Rd. about 2/10 of a mile from the clubhouse. Also, practice greens are located behind the clubhouse onsite.

 

Pace of Play: 

Pace for this round is 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Please ensure that you are keeping within a hole of the group in front of you.

 

Bathrooms:

Bathrooms are located between the bar and restaurant, and on the course between 6 green and 7 tee.

 

Water:

Water bottle refill station is located behind the 1st tee and clubhouse. Water bottles will be at 5 and 14.

 

Food and Beverage:

There will be a lunch buffet with Waldorf chicken salad and tuna salad with mixed greens, assorted vegetables, assorted cheeses, and dressings. There will also be sides of potato chips and cookies and brownies for dessert. and a cash bar.

Left side ending 160 yards from green defined by red stakes (Penalty Area)

 

Immovable Obstructions: All cart paths (paved or unpaved), roads (paved or unpaved), their immediate extensions/adjacent worn areas and white lined areas tying into cart paths. Relief may be taken.

 

Ground Under Repair: Areas enclosed with white painted lines are considered ground under repair. Relief may be taken. Also, all flower beds are considered ground under repair.
