  1. Superintendent Update Discussed – Chris Sorrell
    • Golf Course Maintenance Update
      1. Discolored sand in bunkers is being addressed through both change of raking process and training of staff
      2. Rakes in sand traps are being repaired or put out of action and replacements to be ordered
      3. Ballwashers have been fitted with new washers to better hold cleaning fluid
      4. Goose grass treatment is scheduled for early March after aerification
      5. Sign on 15th Ladies tee box has been moved
      6. Chris S. and Chris F. to review status of ladies tee box on hole #3 to compare yardage to scorecard
      7. “In and Out” stakes for carts will be implemented in the 1st Quarter
  2. Discussed Tournaments’ Schedule/Updates
    • Committee discussed upcoming tournaments and updates by Association
    1. MGA – JD Darling
      1. MGA Kickoff Dinner and Super Bowl raffles raised a total of $4720 of which $2720 was deposited in Continuing Education Fund
      2. March 2nd is the Players Tournament – 2 man Chapman format
      3. Discussed sponsorship program and letter that sent to members on 2/21
    2. RLGA  - Elaine Dow
      1. Upcoming tournaments Round Up on April 3rd and 4th
      2. Partee in Paradise scheduled 5/9-10
    3. SMGA – Jerry Obenour
      1. Several new members added to roster
      2. Weather has disrupted much of the SMGA play
    4. 9 Hole Group – Carol McHale/Robin Hall
      1. Group will not be pairing with RLGA and maintain their own “association”
      2. Opening Breakfast scheduled for 2/28
      3. First play day scheduled for 3/7
  1. Discussed Golf Committee focus areas
    • Communication – Chris Ferguson
      1. Hills course website is in process of being made available through Golf Genius. Chris Ferguson will be working with Jerry Obenour to incorporate all Ranch Golf association website links and Golf Committee meeting  minutes will be posted in site

 

 

    • Handicap/Rules Committee
      1. Jerry has proposed to Chris one committee to handle both Dye and Ranch. Currently the committee has been chaired by Carl Zorn for several years. Chris will decide leadership direction going forward. Jerry will be approaching the heads of each golf group to ask for potential Handicap/Rules committee members.
      2. Communication plan – once committee is formed, all information will be posted on Hills Course website and email blast will inform all golf members of Committee roster, mission, and planned activity of Handicap/Rules Committee
      3. Discussed need for more communication/education on 2019 Rule Changes and ESC scoring
  1. Board of Governors Meeting notes discussed – Bob Karlowicz
      1. Committee to plan to attend the “All Committee” Meeting/Party on March 7th at 5:30 at the Dye Clubhouse
      2. Hills bathrooms on books to be renovated in 2019
      3. New staff members/positions to start March 1st – Maintenance Director, Service Director, Membership Director and still interviewing for Membership Relations
  2. Pro Shop Update – Chris Ferguson
      1. Chris recruiting a Class “A” Professional and two Assistant and search has already netted 15 resumes
      2. Chris, Rod and Carlos together will handle scheduled tournaments for the interim
      3. New Flags in cups on course look excellent and Chris S. will be redoing flags on driving range in the future
