BUTTERFIELD BERMUDA CHAMPIONSHIP LOCAL QUALIFIER 2022
INFORMATION
The Butterfield Bermuda Championship Local Qualifier competition will be held Port Royal Golf Club on Tuesday, 4th & Wednesday, 5th October, 2022.
Three Bermudian golfers will be offered qualifying spots to compete in Bermuda’s fourth annual PGA TOUR event which falls this October 27th to 30th at its host location, Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton, Bermuda. Further to these three exemption spots into the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, those who place fourth, fifth and sixth will be granted exemption spots into the Butterfield Bermuda APGA Championship which will be held this October 11th and 12th at Port Royal Golf Course. These individuals will also be reserve alternatives for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship field. Seventh, eighth and ninth placers will be reserve alternatives for the Butterfield Bermuda APGA Championship.
ELIGIBILITY
Entries are open to Amateur and Professional players and applicants for reinstatement. To be eligible to compete in the local qualifying event, participants must meet the following criteria:
i) Players must possess Bermudian status
ii) Players must be in good standing with the BGA or BPGA and not subject to any disciplinary process or sanction of either association
iii) Amateurs and applicants for reinstatement must have an up-to-date handicap index, not exceeding 1.4 under the World Handicap System.
Note: A player’s scoring record may not include any scores from before October 1, 2021.
FORMAT
The event is a 36-hole individual stroke play competition. Players will be paired in groups of three and all participants will play:
Black Tees - (6,539 yards; 73.1 / 130)
SCHEDULE
Round 1 – Tuesday, 4th October, 2022 – Tee times will begin at 8.00am.
Round 2 – Wednesday, 5th October, 2022 – Tee times will begin at 8.00am.
ENTRIES
All players must complete an entry form which may be found at www.bermudagolf.org The entry fee for all players is $150. Entries without payment will not be accepted.
