Tournament Details and Eligibility

 

                                     

The VGT Tour Championship is the final VGT event where points will qualify for the 2022 CLEVELAND/SRIXON Order of Merit. 

 

FULL FIELD: 120 amateurs and 30 Professionals (150 PLAYERS).

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY THE TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP?

 

  1. Eight Player Spots are reserved for our sponsors.
  2. 112 Exempt Player spots from the 2022 SRIXON/CLEVELAND ORDER OF MERIT (as follows):
    • The # of players in each flight as of August 31st will qualify for the Tour Championship and have their entries secured until September 22nd. 
      • Professionals: 30 spots
      • Championship Women (5.0 & less): 16 spots
      • Championship Men: (4.0 & less): 20 spots
      • DIV. 1: (4.1 to 9.0): 20 spots
      • DIV. 2: (9.1 to 13.0): 20 spots
      • DIV.3 (13.1 to 20.0): 20 spots
      • Senior DIV. (8.0 & under): 16 spots
  3. The top Amateur players in each of the above divisions on the 2022 Order of Merit as of Aug.31st plus the top 30 VGT Professionals have their entries guaranteed until Sept.22nd.  
  4. After Sept.22nd, the event is open to all remaining VGT Members with priority being given to players 20th-30th in that order, as long as payment is received by those players by Sept.22nd. After this point, entries are accepted in the order of their payment being received. 
  5. If the field is not full with members as of Sept.28th at 6pm, we will accept non-members into the field in priority of their payment being received.

The VGT Tour Championship Tournament Format:

 

PRO-AM FORMAT

 

Four Amateurs will be paired with one of VGT’s Feature Pros to make up a 5-person Pro-Am Team.

The format for the Pro-Am is a best 2 out of 5 net stableford format.

(To speed up play, max score is net double bogey.  Please pickup if you are net double or higher.  This goes for Pros too!)

 

18-Hole Stroke Play Championship

 

Players will compete within their own flight for Order of Merit Points and prizing as follows:

 

  1. PRO PURSE: $7,500 (based on full field of 30 pros). Top 12 Pros will be paid out.  

    Pros are also playing for year-end awards and bonuses as noted below.

  1. AMATEUR PRIZING (based on full field per division): 

The top 25% of each Amateur Division will make it to the prize table using stableford points as follows:

      1. CHAMP DIVISION: Alternating Gross & Net Scores
    2. DIVISION ONE: Alternating Gross & Net scores
    3. DIVISION TWO: Alternating gross & net scores
    4. DIVISION THREE: Alternating Gross & Net Scores
    5. WOMEN’S CHAMP DIVISION: Based on Gross Scores
    6. SENIOR DIVISION: Based on Gross Scores

 

CLEVELAND/SRIXON ORDER OF MERIT

 

Our Professional, Senior & Women’s Championship Division Order of Merit is based on the following point system for this event:

 

1st Place: 1500 pts         8th place: 400 pts         15th Place: 120 pts               

2nd Place: 1100 pts        9th place: 300 pts         16th Place: 100 pts      

3rd Place: 900 pts         10th place: 250 pts         17th Place: 80 pts        

4th Place: 800 pts         11th place: 200 pts         18th Place: 60 pts

5th Place: 700 pts         12th place: 180 pts          19th Place: 40 pts 

6th Place: 600 pts         13th place: 160 pts         20th Place: 20 pts

7th Place: 500 pts         14th place: 140 pts            

 

All other divisions will use the point system below using alternating gross & net scores:

 

1st Gross: 1500 pts

6th Gross: 300 pts

1st Net: 1,100 pts

6th Net: 250 pts

2nd Gross: 900 pts

7th Gross: 225 pts

2nd Net: 800 pts

7th Net: 200 pts

3rd Gross: 700 pts

8th Gross: 175 pts

3rd Net: 600 pts

8th Net: 150 pts

4th Gross: 500 pts

9th Place: 125 pts

4th Net: 450 pts

9th Net: 100 pts

5th Gross: 400 pts

10th Place: 75 pts

SRIXON/CLEVELAND

ORDER OF MERIT YEAR-END AWARDS:

  • $2,500 SRIXON / CLEVELAND CASH Prize awarded to the top Professional on the 2022 Srixon/Cleveland Order of Merit (To be used for any 2022/23 Q-School (or any Monday Qualifying entries in 2022/23 in absence of Q-Schools).
  • $500 ‘ROOKIE OF THE YEAR’ AWARD presented by IGA
  • $1,000 CLEVELAND/SRIXON Most Improved Player Award sponsored by Cleveland/Srixon
  • $5,000 GATEKEEPER SERIES FINALS (Mid October)
  • $5,000 in AMATEUR ORDER OF MERIT Prizing as follows:

 

    • Top 10 Amateurs in the following flights:
      • Championship Div. (4.0 & less) – 1ST Place: $500 Prize Credit
      • Division One (4.1 to 9.0) – 1st Place: $500 Prize Credit
      • Division Two (9.1 to 13.0) – 1st Place: $500 Prize Credit
      • Division Three (13.1 to 20.0) – 1st Place: $500 Prize Credit

 

    • Top 5 Amateurs in the following Divisions:
      • Women’s Championship (5.0 & less) – 1st Place: $500 Maui Jim Prize ($250 Maui Jim credit + $250 prize credit)
      • Senior Division: 1st Place: $500 Prize Credit

 

 

Entry Fees & Registration

 

VGT Professionals: $175+GST ($183.75)*

Non-Member Professionals: $225+GST ($236.25)*

VGT Amateur Members: $175+GST ($183.75)

Non-member Amateur: $225+GST ($236.25)

 

SKINS GAME: $20/player.  Please add this to your e-transfer if you are playing.

 

*Pro entry includes a $10 donation to Meadow Gardens Junior Golf Program.

Qualified Member Priority Registration:

Members who have qualified for the Tour Championship in their division have until Friday, Sept.22nd at 6pm to register with priority. After that time, we will fill the field with VGT Members sitting 25-30th (Pros) and 13-20th on the Amateur OOM within the division that has not yet filled.

 

Member Priority Registration / Deadline: If the event is not yet filled by Friday, Sept.28th at 6pm, non-members will be admitted into the field in order of their entries being received.

Wind-up Awards and Presentations will be conducted in the clubhouse over a cold refreshment!
