Plantation Men's Golf Association
Welcome Current and Prospective Members of the Plantation Men’s Golf Association,
The Plantation Men’s Golf Association is a collection of avid (but not necessarily good) golfers who enjoy participating in competitive tournaments and who are looking for the fellowship that golf provides.
We welcome you to another season of golf events with the Plantation Men’s Golf Association (MGA) in Frisco, TX. The purpose of the MGA is to promote fellowship, encourage interest and confidence in golf, and familiarize members with USGA golf rules and etiquette. Our events are designed for members to meet their neighbors and enjoy a fun golf experience, irrespective of skill or handicap levels.
We hope all current members found last season to be fun and rewarding. We are planning another great golf experience for you this year. Annual membership in our organization is only $30. To compete in our monthly events, you must also establish a USGA handicap. You can sign up for this service at the Plantation Golf Club for an additional annual fee of about $30 or anywhere that allows you to an official GHIN handicap.
During the course of the upcoming golf season, we offer our members a variety of tournaments—mostly 1-day events on Saturdays--incorporating various formats, including individual medal and match play, as well as 2-man team events. Prizes are awarded to winning players and/or teams based on both gross and net scores. We also have approximately 1 par 3 tournament (turn the whole course into par 3's) a month on Wednesday nights during summer months. At the end of the season, we conduct the individual medal play MGA Club Championship. We incorporate an evening banquet/auction into this 2-day event, which also serves as a fundraiser for a local charity.
Entry fee to participate in most events will be $65, which includes:
1) Green fees
2) Cart
3) GPS
4) Prizes (awarded for both gross and net scores)
5) Food & Beverage Discounts
*Season pass holders pay just $35.
We also offer players the opportunity to participate in a $15 cash game (Optional) (2 cash/2 golf ball closest to the pin prizes, hole-in-one fund (Currently $500), and net skins with 50% Handicap.
We encourage you to sign up early and participate in as many of our events as your schedule permits. For each event played, MGA members earn Ryder Cup style points based on net score tournament placement. The top point winners are eligible to compete in October’s 2-day, Ryder Cup-style Gold Cup Matches against our friends from the Woodbridge Golf Club in Wylie, TX.
