Registration Fee

 

Player Registration Fee:  $550.00 per player

 

Fee Includes:

  • Event Entry Fee
  • Two Rounds of Tournament Golf with riding cart

  • Thursday Player's Meeting & Reception
  • Saturday Dinner & Awards - Plan departure flights for Sunday if possible! 
  • Awards will be given to the Overall Low Gross and Low Net teams and the Low Gross and Low Net teams in each flight upon completion of play

Tournament Format

 

Field Size: 240

 

Tournament Format

  • This will be a 36 hole net Scramble event using the Ambrose* handicapping method (see below).
  • Friday & Saturday 8:00 AM shotgun starts on Celebrity and Player courses. Hole & course assignments will not be available until the week of the tournament.
  • All competitors will play from the same set of tees (to be finalized the week of the tournament).
  • There will be multiple flights assigned by the committee based on team handicap. The number of flights will be dependent upon both the number of teams entered and the range of team handicaps.

 

 

*The Ambrose Team Handicap is fifty percent of the average of the four players' Course Handicaps rounded to the first decimal place.

 
Example: 
Course Handicaps of 14 + 10 +15 + 18 = 57
The team's handicap average is 14.25.

50% of the average is 7.13, which rounds to 7.1 (0.05 rounds up).

 

Awards:

  • The 2023 Scramble Open Champions will be the overall Low Net team from the field.
  • Awards to the overall Low Net and Low Gross winners.
  • Awards to the Low Net and Low Gross winners for each flight (exclusive of overall Low Net and Low Gross winners).

 


Practice Rounds Information

 

Cost of practice rounds is $75.00 per player. One player must make the reservation and pay the total fee of $300 for all team members at once.

 

Tee Time Registration will open on February 22 at 9:00AM Eastern.

Reservations will be made via Golf Genius (links to be provided). Do not call the golf shop to make tee times.

Important Deadlines

 

Phase 1 Registration Opens: Feb. 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM EST

Phase 1 Registration Closes: Feb. 21, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST

Lottery (if needed to determine field): Feb. 22, 2023

Phase 2 Registration Reopens (if capacity for event isn't reached on Feb. 21): Feb. 22, 2023 at 9 AM EST

Final Registration Deadline: April 1, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST

 

Handicap Revision Date: May 5, 2023

Substitution Deadline: May 16, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST

  • Substitutions made after May 16 must be within 8 handicap strokes of the outgoing player

Registration Process

 

Individual registration ONLY. Every player must register themselves.

 

Registration will be conducted following this process:

 

Phase 1:  Registration will be open for 7 days.  If an event has more teams registered than we can accommodate, we will conduct a lottery to determine which teams get in. 

 

All players will go into a "Pending Registration" status. Credit card authorizations will be approved but cards will not be charged until a player goes into the Confirmed Roster. When all players from a team are registered, the team will be moved to a "Waitlist".  (It really helps if all players spell the team name the same way.)

 

 Phase 2:  If the event does not fill during Phase 1, registration will re-open and will be First Come-First Served.  If an event reaches maximum capacity before the registration deadline, registration for that event will be turned closed. 

 

If Phase 2 registration is utilized, the last player on a team to register will determine the team's place in the First Come-First Serve queue.  In this phase, when a team is complete, it may be moved directly from "Pending Registration" to the Confirmed Roster (bypassing the Waitlist) at which time credit cards will be charged.

 

Teams moving to the Confirmed Roster:  

  • If the field does not fill during Phase 1, all complete teams will be moved to the Confirmed Roster and credit cards will be charged on February 22.
  • If a lottery is necessary, the selected teams will be moved to the Confirmed Roster and credit cards will be charged on February 23.

 

Refund/Cancelation Policy

 

Refunds can be requested for cancelations made prior to the final registration deadline (April 1, 2023 at 11:59 pm EST). A 4% fee will be retained by the Association to cover credit card processing fees. Cancelations made after the final registration deadline will not be refunded.
