Welcome to the third Master's event of 2023, hosted by Sycamore Creek Country Club, this upcoming Monday afternoon. This page is intended to provide information for the events 1pm shotgun start.  If after reviewing the information, you have questions, please email info@mvgolf.org

SCORING

 

There will be two ways to return your official scorecard.  Electronic, which is the preferred method, or the printed scorecard.  Scorecards will be accepted for 45 minutes after the first Electronic Scorecard is returned. At the conclusion of this period, all remaining scorecards will be certified and the results announced. If you do not have the Golf Genius Tournament App on your mobile device, please download it prior to your arrival

LOCAL RULE FOR STROKE AND DISTANCE PENALTIES IN EFFECT

 

The Local Rules and Conditions of Competition have been updated to reflect the current revisions within the rules of golf and our competitions committee has also decided to adopt the Local Rule for a Ball that is Lost or Out of Bounds (E-5) for this event.

This Local Rule does not prevent you from playing a provisional ball and in most cases it is still wise to do so.  This local rule is not available to the first ball when you put a provisional ball into play.

HANDICAPS

 

For the Net Scores, handicaps have been determined using the Friday August 11th revision. 

 

SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY

 

11:30am - Practice Area Opens (NO LUNCH AVAILABLE ON SITE)
1pm - Shotgun Start   See Hole Assignments
After Play - Scoring and Dinner (Dinner Provided and included in Entry Fee)

 

PREFERRED LIES

 

A ball lying on a CLOSELY MOWN AREA in the general area may be lifted without penalty and cleaned. Before lifting the ball, the player must mark its position. Having lifted the ball, he must place it on a spot within ONE CLUB LENGTH of and not nearer the hole than where it originally lay, that is not in a penalty area or bunker and not on a putting green.

OPTIONAL SKINS GAME

 

There is an optional $20 per player, skins game available. Entries will be taken at the registration table prior to teeing off. (Separate divisions for both Net and Gross scores with cash only being accepted for payment).

 

ASSIGNED TEEING LOCATIONS

 

If you find that your assigned tees present too difficult of a challenge for either your age or playing ability, you can choose to move up to the Green Tees. In doing so you will only be able to win prizes in the Net contest. When choosing this option you need to alert the MVGA staff before the start of the competition.
