Welcome to the 2023 MVGA Spring Better Ball hosted by NCR Country Club and presented by our friends at Midwest Security Services.
A few things of note prior to your arrival for Monday's 1pm shotgun start.
- Skins registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 am.
- Scoring verification will be where lunch was served, with a Cash Bar, Appetizers and Awards following play.
- There is an optional $20 per team, skins game. (Separate pots for all four divisions of play and only cash will be accepted for payment)

ELECTRONIC SCORING ON GOLF GENIUS APP
There will be two ways to return your official scorecard. Electronic, which is the preferred method, or the printed scorecard. Scorecards will be accepted for 45 minutes after the first Electronic Scorecard is returned. Upon which time all scorecards will be certified, and results announced. If you do not have the mobile scoring app, please download the Golf Genius App prior to your arrival.

LOCAL RULE FOR STROKE AND DISTANCE PENALTIES IN EFFECT
The Local Rules and Conditions of Competition have been updated to reflect the current revisions within the rules of golf and our competitions committee has also decided to adopt the Local Rule for a Ball that is Lost or Out of Bounds (E-5) for this event. This Local Rule does not prevent you from playing a provisional ball and in most cases it is still wise to do so. This local rule is not available to the first ball when you put a provisional ball into play.
If you have questions on this local rule, please ask staff prior to your round.
HANDICAPS
For play in the Net Divisions, handicaps will be used from Friday, April 21. See Handicap Analysis Information
SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY
11:30am - Registration and Lunch will Open.
1pm - Shotgun Start See Hole Assignments
After Play - Scoring, Awards, and Drinks (cash bar available) inside the clubhouse.
OPTIONAL SKINS GAME
$20 Optional Team Skins Game is available. Only cash will be accepted for skins contest. There are 4 separate skins pots based upon the division of play. For the Gross Divisions of play, Gross Skins will be awarded, and for Net Divisions of Play, Net Skins will be awarded.
PLAYOFF
If there is a tie at the conclusion of play, a sudden victory playoff will be used to deterimine the Division Champion. In the Net Divisions handicap strokes will be allocated as during the championship round.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
The South Course will use the final round hole locations from the 2022 US Senior Women's Open. In the Scratch Division, the Traditional Black Tee Yardage will be played at approximately 7000 yards. In the Sr Scratch Division, the White Tees will be used and be set at the same yardage as the final round of the US Senior Women's Open at approximately 6100 yards.
On the North Course in the Younger Division, the Black Tees will be used but set at the Gold Yardage of approximately 6200 yards. In the Senior Division, a forward White Tee Yardage will be used and set at approximately 5800 yards
