IGA TEE POLICY
For our events, the IGA has one tee position for men and one tee position for women. It has been our standard practice that tee positions be around 6,500 yards for men and 5,500 yards for women.
In an effort to provide an enjoyable golf experience to all our members, a forward tees option is available for members who are at least 60 years of age. The forward tees will be designated as those between the standard men’s and women’s tee.
Guidelines
The following conditions will apply for any changes to the tees you wish to play:
- To play from the forward tees you must be at least sixty years of age.
- If no tee modifications are made, players will play from the default tees.
- If you decide to modify your tee selection, you may do so prior to the close of tournament registration within Golf Genius (instructions below). You may also send an e-mail to the club at iga.az.club@gmail.com to verify your tee selection.
- Sign in to Golf Genius.
- Home -> Golfer Profile -> Edit Profile
- Where it says Tee, input ‘FORWARD’
- Click Save.
These guidlines are in place to ensure fairness and also to reduce the weekly setup overhead for the IGA volunteers as well as avoid confusion and miscommunication.
Course Handicap and Tee Selections
Tee selection can and will affect your course handicap.
- Tee slope and relative rating are used to compute course handicaps (rule 3-5).
- Higher rating tees will have a greater impact on course handicap adjustment.
- Course handicaps will be used for each event.
- If you are competing against others in your flight playing from different tees, the tee slope and relative rating will be considered.
