ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Gender: The Championship is open to male amateur golfers.
  • Membership: Players must be a member of the MGA.
  • Age: There is no age requirement for this event.
  • USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index.
  • Must Live in a state that is contiguous with the state Missouri. 

 

 ENTRY INFORMATION

  • Entries: Player must register online prior to the established deadline (7 days prior to qualifying date at Noon). A player may only submit one entry. Any player found to have submitted more than one entry may be subject to disqualification.
  • A late fee of $50 will be accessed for all late entries.
  • Fee: 
    • Qualifying Fee/Championship Fee: $175
  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline at Noon.
  • Refund Policy: A portion of the entry fee, will be refunded regardless of reason if the MGA is notified 573-636-8994 or via email: Prior to Deadline: Entry fee less $30After the Deadline: No Refund. 
  • Transfer Qualifying Site: A player may transfer to a different site, if done so by the deadline date of the event.

All non-exempt players must qualify to earn a spot in the Championship. Once entries close, the number of qualifying spots available per qualifying site will be posted and emailed to players with additional information pertaining to their qualifying site.

STATE AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP, FORMAT, & SCHEDULE

  • Format & Schedule: This Championship will be in two stages, at stroke play
    1. Sectional Qualifying - 18 holes: Players must qualify at one of the sectional qualifying sites listed below.
    2. Championship: The championship field consists of place-winners from sectional qualifying and exempt players
      • Monday, June 19, 2023 // Practice rounds
      • Tuesday, June 20, 2023 // Round 1, 18 holes Stroke Play
      • Wednesday, June 21, 2023 // Round 2, 18 holes Stroke Play
  • Cut: There is a cut after 36 holes to the low 64 players.
  • In the event of a tie, a sudden-death playoff will be held immediately following play.

Match Play: Players can ride in carts during Match Play

      • Thursday, June 22, 2023 // Round of 64
      • Friday, June 23, 2023 // Round of 32 // Round of 16
      • Saturday, June 24, 2023 // Quarter Final // Semi-Final
      • Sunday, June 25th, 2023 // Final 36 holes

CADDIES

A competitor may bring his own caddie or carry his own clubs.  

 

GOLF CARTS

The use of a motorized golf cart (push carts are approved without restriction) for this championship is outlined below:

1. Sectional Qualifying: A player may use a golf cart during sectional qualifying rounds. This is NOT included in the entry fee. Players must pay in the pro shop if they choose to ride. 

2. Championship: A player may use a golf cart during the Championship practice and competition rounds. This is NOT included in the entry fee. Players must pay in the pro shop if they choose to ride. 

INFORMATION & PAIRINGS

Complete Championship details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed to players, and posted on this website after entries close.

Champion – Silver and the Traveling Trophy for one year.
Runner Up & Semi-Finalists – Silver
Lowest Qualifying Score – Silver
