U.S. OPEN LOCAL QUALIFIER

PRACTICE ROUNDS

To schedule a practice round, you will need to contact Oakridge CC directly.  Practice rounds will be available beginning on Monday, May 8th.  You may call Oakridge beginning at 8:00am, 3 days in advance of your desired practice round date. For example, for a practice round on Monday, May 8th, you may call Oakridge as early as Friday, May 5th. Practice round windows will start after 2 pm each day and there will be a limited number of times available, given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Practice rounds will be reserved for players only.  Caddies and other guests will not be permitted to play.  The rate for a practice round will be $110, which will include a cart and range balls.  Competitors will be limited to one practice round.  Food will be available at the club's halfway house during the round but will not be available in the clubhouse.  Please plan accordingly. 

 

DRESS CODE

Players and their caddies must abide by the dress code of the host facility. The UGA encourages appropriate golf attire.  Each player is responsible to know the dress code and is subject to review by the tournament committee.  

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES (NEW)

In local and final qualifying, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg. elevation changes, wind speed etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 4-3.

 

CLUBS: GROOVES

In Local and Sectional qualifying and in the Championship proper, the player's clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010.  PENALTY FOR MAKING STROKE WITH CLUB IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Disqualification.

 

CADDIES 

Qualifying Rounds - A player may provide his own caddie. If he wishes to have the host club furnish a caddie, he should ask the Official in Charge because sufficient caddies may not be available at the host club.

Championship proper - A player may provide his own caddie. If he wishes to have a caddie provided to him by the host club, he must complete the information as outlined in the Memorandum to Players. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.

 

FOOTWEAR

It is a condition at all qualifying sites unless otherwise indicated by an asterisk on this entry application that shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION

 

TRANSPORTATION

The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect, except at certain Qualifying sites as indicated on this entry application where the caddie only is permitted to use motorized transportation. Model Local Rule G-6.

 

GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS

Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300.
