Format

• Two Divisions
  • Senior Division - Ages 55+ Course setup below (subject to change)

• • Super Senior Division - Ages 65+ Course setup below (subject to change)

• 36 Hole Stroke Play Championship – Field is 84 players
  • Practice Round – Afternoon shotgun on June 20th. Entrants are permitted to create their own practice round group including their partner for the informal four-ball (Best Ball of 2)
• Round 1 (18 holes) – Wednesday, June, 21
• Round 2 (18 holes) – Thursday. June, 22
• Champion of senior division is exempt for 2023, 2024, & 2025 Ohio Amateur Championship

Eligibility

• Must be a male who has  reached their 55th birthday on or before June 21, 2023
• Must have an active WHS handicap index of 7.4 or less
• A resident of the State of Ohio
• In order to pay the member fee, entrant must have an active WHS Handicap Index at an OGA member club
• A resident is defined as meeting four (4) of the nine (9). 1. Ownership or leasing of Ohio residence 2. Proof of payment of utilities at property for which residency is being claimed 3.Ohio homestead exemption declared on residence 4. Place of employment in Ohio 5.Ohio Driver’s License 6.Ohio Vehicle registration 7. Ohio address listed on federal income tax return filed by player 8. Has a WHS handicap at a golf club in Ohio. 9. Voter registration in Ohio

Fee

• $330 Member fee. $390 Non-member fee.
• Practice round, range use, cart fees, and lunches included for Tuesday & Wednesday
• No refunds after the deadline unless submitted with a medical excuse
• All refunds are subject to a $15 service fee

Registration

• Players must register at Freemont CC on the date of the practice round, June 20th, 2023
• A player may call or email the OGA to pre-register, if he is unable to get to Freemont CC on Tuesday. If a player fails to register, his spot may be given to an alternate

Caddies

• A player must not have another player who has or will compete in the same round as his or her caddie during the round. Penalty for breach of Local Rules: The player gets the general penalty for each hole during which he or she is helped by such a caddie. If the breach happens or continues. Between two holes, the player gets the general penalty for the next hole. Modern Local Rule 8H

Shoes

• Players may not wear the following shoes:
• Traditional spikes—that is, spikes having single or multiple points designed to penetrate deeply into the surface of the ground (regardless of whether made of metal, ceramic, plastic or other materials
• Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course penalty for breach of this Local Rules: See Rule 4.3. Modern Local Rule G-7

Specification of the Club and the Ball

• List of Conforming Driver Heads: Local Rules as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures in in effect. Model Local Rule G-1
• List of Conforming Golf Balls: Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-3.
