Notice to Players
38th WPGA Mid-Amateur Championship
Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Mystic Rock Golf Course , Nemacolin Woodlands Resort

 

The field consists of 78 players.  Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee. 

 

Championship Schedule:

 

Wednesday, September 27 –   Starting times begin at 7:40 am from the # 1 and # 10 teeing areas.  All players will start their second round on the same hole they started the morning round.  There will be box lunches available when you return your morning card at the Scoring Area.  There will be Scoring Areas established by # 9 green and # 18 green.  Time between rounds will be minimal.

 

Format: 36 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

 

Tee Markers: Play will be from the from the WPGA  WHITE tee markers, par 72 (Approximately 6,800 Yards).  

 

Practice: Please contact Nemacolin Woodlands Resort for practice round availability.  724-329-6470   Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player.  The practice range will open one hour prior to the first tee time.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Automotive transportation is permitted for the championship and cart fees are included in the entry fee. Caddies are permitted.

 

Food and Beverage:  The WPGA will provide a box lunch for players only.  Bottled water will be available on the golf course.  All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

 

Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED--PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

 

Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Uniontown area or at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. 

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

 

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation all players should return to the Clubhouse or Mulligans (near # 10 tee). Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

 

Spectator Info: Spectator Carts are not permitted for the Championship.
