Berkeley Country Club is a semi-private 18 hole golf course with a full practice facility,
grill room, and a classic "Lowcountry" style clubhouse.

The original Exeter Plantation was established in 1700. Tradition is evident from the time you pass through the gates of Exeter Plantation. In 1959, this beautiful tract of land was transformed into a 9-hole golf course and Berkeley Country Club was formed. Renowned golf course architect, George Cobb completed the design of the current 18-hole Championship layout in 1967. Later that same year the original plantation house was lost in a massive fire. A "Lowcountry" style clubhouse was constructed in the mid-1990's and currently hosts a pro-shop, member room, banquet hall, and the Exeter Grill and Lounge. Berkeley Country Club has long been recognized for outstanding course conditions and its playability for all levels of golfers. In recent years, efforts have been made to update and advance the overall quality of the facility. The installation of Champion Bermuda greens in 2005 and 419 Bermuda fairways in 2008 have proven to be outstanding surface upgrades. Though big renovations such as these are complete, BCC remains focused on improving the overall golf experience.

Berkeley Country Club prides itself on being one of the most tight knit golf communities in the Lowcountry. With a membership consisting of many avid golfers and low handicap players, a premium is placed on everyday enjoyment and tournament play. The BCC Membership hosts five major golf events a year. The first being the match play format of the Member-Member in early May. Followed by the hugely popular Member-Guest is hosted in late June. August brings The Championships, which play host to 7 Divisions (Club, Handicap, Senior, Super Senior, Lady, Senior Lady, and Junior). Over Labor Day weekend, BCC opens its doors to some of the area's finest amateur players. The Berkeley Invitational has been played for more than 50 years and is considered one of Charleston's premier golf events. BCC finishes the tournament season with the fastest growing event on the schedule, The Berkeley Senior Invitational which is held in late October.
