2023 U.S. Girls Junior Amateur Qualifying - Veterans GC

VETERANS GOLF COURSE

 


 

Practice RoundsPlayers may arrange a practice round by contacting the golf shop and identifying themselves as a competitor in the field. Practice rounds will be offered based on club availability within the timeframes listed below. 

 

Availability:

  • Call the Pro Shop (413-787-6449) to secure a practice round.
  • Walking only for competitors.
  • Weekdays are preferred, limited weekend times are available.
  • Sunday, June 25th the course will be available for practice rounds from 11:00am - 2:00pm pending club availability.

 

Notes:

  • Please do not call before Monday, May 22nd. 
  • Competitors will be limited to one practice round and may be paired up with other competitors.
  • Please limit your practice round to one ball on each hole and be aware of your pace of play with surrounding groups. 

 

Starting Times:  Play will begin at 1:00pm off the 1st & 10th tee. Pairings & Starting Times will be available after the close of entries and can be accessed by clicking the "Starting Times & Parings" tab above. There will be no registration on the day of the event, please report to your scheduled starting tee to receive local rules, hole locations, scorecard, etc. at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Withdrawals:  To withdraw from a qualifier, please login to the USGA Portal and click WITHDRAW and select the Championship and Reason for withdrawing. If applicable, any refund will be processed within 5-7 business days. Once submitted, all withdrawals are final. If you need to withdraw within 48 hours of the qualifier, please also e-mail Steve Yatrousis at syatrousis@massgolf.org. 

 

Qualifying & Alternate Spots Available: 3 Qualifying Spot(s) and 2 Alternate Spots. Qualifying players will advance to the 74th U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur Championship at Eisenhower Golf Course at the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado, July 17 - 22, 2023.

 

Distance Devices:  The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.

 

Automotive Transportation: The use of automotive transportation will NOT be permitted during the player's round. Pull/push carts will be permitted.

 

Caddies & Push Carts:  Players are permitted to employ a caddy and/or use a push cart. Club caddies are not available through the Veterans Memorial GC Pro Shop. EXCEPTION: A player must not use a parent, step parent, or guardian as a caddie during Qualifying or the Championship proper. Please note, this is a USGA policy, and any questions or concerns about this policy should be directed to the USGA Championship staff. 

 

Competition Tees/ Yardage: Competition Tees & Yardage are approximate and subject to change. Play will be from approximately 6,075 yards (Par 72). Please see the yardage chart below for approximate yardages and corresponding club tee markers.

Golf Shop, Locker Room and Practice Facilities: 

  • There is no practice range at Veterans Memorial GC. 
  • CC of Wilbraham opens at 7:00am for U.S. Jr Amateur & Girls Junior Amateur players on June 26th.
  • Players can park and proceed directly to the range, balls will be available on the range. Please follow all signage/direction from CC of Wilbraham staff on the morning of the 26th.

 

Food & Beverage: Lunch will be available for purchase starting at 11:00 AM. 

 

Dress Code:  Please observe the USGA dress code as stated in the application.

*There will be no registration on the day of the event - please report to your scheduled starting hole to receive local rules, scorecard, etc. 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
