The Captain’s Putter Matches is an annual competition featuring top amateurs from the Virginia State Golf Association and the West Virginia Golf Association playing against the top amateurs from the Carolinas Golf Association (North and South Carolina). Each team features 14 regulars, eight seniors, and two super senior team members. The Captain's Putter Matches are invitation only and players are selected by CGA Men's/Senior Men's Rankings.

 

Schedule of Events: Day 1 (Friday): Four-Ball and Foursomes Matches.  Day 2 (Saturday): Singles Matches.

Winner: Each match is worth 1 point. A total of 48 points are available. Virginias needs 24.5 points to win Captain's Putter in 2023. Carolinas needs 24 points to retain.

All-Time Record:  Carolinas leads 53-23-1 all-time in the series. The Carolinas have won the last two meetings.
