FIELD LIMIT

60 sides (120 players).

ENTRY DEADLINE

Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by WA Golf by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, teams who withdraw for any reason will be refunded 50% of the entry fee. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one parings have been released.

FORMAT

36-hole 2-person four-ball (often referred to as Best-Ball). Gross and net awards awarded in each flight. 

FLIGHTS

The field will be divided into three flights by combined team course handicap. Flights (preliminary) will be posted on the championship portal at the close of entries and will be finalized on Friday, May 3 after handicaps have been updated.

HANDICAP INDEXS

Handicap Indexes on Friday, May 3 will be used for the championship. Players will receive 85% of their playing handicap for net scoring. The maximum allowable playing handicap per player is 36. Players above this will be reduced to meet this requirement.

COURSE YARDAGE

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Yardages are posted on the championship portal HERE. Championship Flight will play tees at 5,701 yards, Par 73 and Flight 1 and 2 will play tees at 5,287 yards, Par 73.

PRACTICE ROUND

Contestants will be permitted to play one complimentary practice round prior to the championship. Cart Fees are not included for the practice round. Practice rounds will be available on Sunday, May 5th after 1:00 p.m. for all contestants. Practice round starting time reservations must be made by calling the pro shop at (360) 757-0530 one week in advance.

When making reservations, contestants must identify themselves as WA Golf Women’s Four-Ball Championship participants. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop.


ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with WA Golf at Skagit Golf & Country Club prior to playing the championship. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:

SUNDAY, MAY 5: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

MONDAY, MAY 6: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round 1 starting times will be released on Friday, May 3 after handicap index have been finalized. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the championship portal and will be emailed to each player. Teams will be re-paired by gross scores for the final round, with the leaders starting last.

 

SCHEDULE
36-hole four-ball stroke play (gross & net). In the event of a tie for the championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play to determine the winner.

                                      7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (Championship Flight)

                                      9:20 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. (Flight 1)

                                      11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Flight 2)

           

TUESDAY, MAY 7:       Round 2 starting times off the #1 tee

                                      7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (Flight 2)

                                      9:10 a.m. – 10:40 a.m. (Flight 1)

                                      11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Championship Flight)

HOSTED LUNCH

WA Golf will host a player lunch in the clubhouse for contestants following Round 2 on Tuesday, May 7.  
 

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE (No-Host)
Food service will be available beginning at 6:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, snack items and beverages are available.

BOTTLED WATER

WA Golf will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at the starting tee and multiple locations on the golf course.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

All major credit cards and cash are accepted in the golf shop and restaurant.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop will be open from 6:30 a.m. – dusk. The driving range will open at 6:30 a.m.

RANGE BALLS

Warm Range balls will be provided to contestants prior to each round courtesy of WA Golf.

LOCKER ROOM

The women’s locker room is available for player use. Individual lockers will not be available.

AUTOMOTIVE CARTS

The use of automotive carts during championship play are permitted. Carts are $50 per team, per day and fees were collected during registration. Carts are not guaranteed for teams who did not make a reservation during registration.

CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

WA Golf is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at WA Golf Championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), must be submitted to a WA Golf staff member on site. While spectator carts are not allowed, the WA Golf will make every effort to accommodate these requests by assigning a WA Golf volunteer driver based on availability. The driver will transport the spectator to viewing locations throughout the golf course, not shot-by-shot or hole-by-hole.

 

Spectators with transportation needs should contact the WA Golf Championship Department at (206) 526-8605, option 3, prior to the championship so that arrangements can be made to have a driver on site.

 

Requests due to temporary injuries or impairments will not be granted.

 

Only spectators who have complied with the above procedures and met the requirements will be permitted to ride. Every possible effort will be made to ensure that spectators with permanent disabilities are able to view the competition.

CADDIES

Host club caddies are not available. Players may provide their own caddie. Caddies must wear a caddie bib which can be picked up on the first tee and must be returned with your scorecard after each round.  

PRIZES

All prizes will be awarded according to 36-hole, four-ball stroke play, gross and net scores. The overall gross champions will have their names inscribed on the base of the perpetual trophy. In addition, Kusak crystal awards and merchandise credit will be presented to the overall gross and net champions.

 

Merchandise credit will also be awarded to other high finishing gross and net teams in each flight. All merchandise credit must be redeemed in the Skagit Golf & Country Club golf shop. 

 

Kusak crystal will be awarded to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or an eagle during the championship.


NOTE: Except for ties for the championship (gross), Matching Scorecards will be used to determine winners for crystal only (merchandise will be split) as outlined by the USGA in Section 5A(6) of Committee Procedures.

AWARDS CEREMONY

An awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 7 after all scores have been entered. The ceremony will take place in the clubhouse.  

EXEMPTIONS

The 2024 Washington Women’s Four-Ball Champions (gross) will receive an exemption into the 2025 Women’s Four-Ball Championship and the 2025 Washington Champion of Champions. Team must be comprised of the same players to receive the Four-Ball exemption.

PERFORMANCE POINTS

Performance Points are not awarded for the Washington Women’s Four-Ball Championship.

GHIN SCORE POSTING

WA Golf will post competition scores for all players to the USGA GHIN System. For posting purposes, any time a hole is not finished, players must mark down X and their most likely score. Example: X5 or X8.

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

CODE OF CONDUCT

WA Golf expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:
 

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming

 

The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.

UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

During play of the championship, a competitor who withdraws must notify WA Golf staff and fill out a withdraw form. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying WA Golf staff or without having sufficient reason to withdraw) will not be granted entry into any future WA Golf championship for a minimum of two years.

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s Pace of Play Policy, which is in effect at all championships. The policy can be viewed online HERE.

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s 2024 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships and can be viewed online HERE.

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT

Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
