Westchester Seniors Golf Association
The Triangular Matches
History
The Triangular Matches began in 1927 as a competition among the senior golf organizations of Westchester, Long Island, and New Jersey — a tradition now nearly a century old.
The inaugural match was held at Rockwood Hall Country Club, located in Sleepy Hollow, New York, on the grounds of the historic Rockwood Hall estate once owned by the Rockefeller family. The club and its buildings no longer exist; the site is now preserved as Rockwood Hall State Park.
The permanent Triangular trophy is on display at Golf Central, the MGA's headquarters.
Match Format
The matches rotate annually among the three (3) host organizations. Each organization fields twelve (12) players across all age groups, for a total of thirty-six (36) competitors. Each player competes in two matches — one against each of the other two (2) organizations.
Triangular Team Composition
The Westchester Seniors field twelve (12) players across six (6) age classes, as outlined below.

Players earn points throughout the season based on their tournament performance. Points are accumulated as follows (Gross and Net):
-
Tournament Champion — 5 points
-
Tournament Champion Runner-Up — 4 points
-
Flight Winner — 3 points
-
Second Place — 2 points
-
Third Place — 1 point
Players with the highest point totals will be selected to represent the Westchester Seniors at the Triangular.

IMPORTANT: Triangular points will NOT be awarded for the new fifth tournament, the Club Championship.
The more tournaments you participate in, the greater your opportunity to qualify. We encourage all members to compete throughout the season!
