Format:

18 holes of individual stroke play. Play will be from the NCGA Blue Tee Markers wherever they are situated (see yardages). The low 8 individuals will advance to the California Senior Amateur Championship at The Preserve Golf Club in Carmel, CA on November 12-14, 2018. Any playoffs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot in and three alternate positions.

 

Competition Schedule:

Starting times will start at 8:00am off of Holes #1 and #10. See the Pairings tab for starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Practice Round Information:

Players should call The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge Golf Shop at 408-323-9900 to schedule a practice round. Practice times are available Tuesday-Friday after 12:00pm and Saturday-Sunday after 2:00pm. The practice round rate is $75 per player inclusive of cart and range. Players should ask for Craig Davis and identify themselves as participants in the California Senior Amateur Qualfying when making their practice round time.

Note: Additional guests, i.e. people not playing in the qualifying tournament, are not allowed to join in practice rounds.

 

Cart Information:

It is strongly recommended that players and caddies take a cart but it is not required. There is a limit of two carts per group and no more than two people per cart. Cart rental is $25 per person. Carts will be staged near the range but players must pay the cart fee in the Boulder Ridge golf shop before taking a cart. Pull-carts are permitted but not available for rental from Boulder Ridge. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Practice Balls:

Provided for players prior to and following the competition round. The practice range will open at 7:00am. The practice putting and chipping greens will open at sunrise.

 

Payment Information:

Major credit cards will be the only method of payment accepted for all purchases (golf shop and food and beverage) at The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge.

 

Food and Beverage Information:

Breakfast will not be available at The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge. Premade sandwiches and chips will be available at the restaurant bar beginning at 11:30am. OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE IS PROHIBITED.

 

Withdrawals:

Entrants who wish to withdraw from Qualifying must notify the NCGA at 831-625-4653 prior to their scheduled qualifying round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future California Amateur competitions.

 

Refunds:

Full refund less $10 processing fee if requested prior to closing date. 50% refund after the closing date and 48 hours prior to the event. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.

 

Additional Championship Information

 

Eligibility:

The Championship is open to senior amateur golfers who have an established current index of 7.4 or below as of the time of registration and are members in good standing of the Northern California Golf Association and/or Southern California Golf Association.  Senior Amateur entrants must have reached their 55th birthday by November 12, 2018. 

 

Championship Proper Format:

90 players, including exempts, will advance to the championship. The championship field will play 54 holes of stroke play at The Preserve Golf Club.  The low 30 players and ties will advance to final round after a 36 hole cut.

Player Code of Conduct Policy:

By submitting an entry for any NCGA/SCGA administered competitions, the contestant understands that his/her participation is at the sole discretion of the NCGA/SCGA. A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the NCGA/SCGA staff or Rules and Competitions Committee at any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the NCGA/SCGA or the “Spirit of the Game” are grounds for such removal and suspension from future NCGA/SCGA administered competitions. These include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property
  • Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing
  • Offensive or unbecoming language
  • Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of NCGA/SCGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Conduct deemed unbecoming
  • Failure to post scores for handicapping purposes
  • Manipulation of scores posted for handicapping purposes
