Honeck and Frost outlast the field to claim 38th Trans-Miss Four-Ball Championship Title.

Santa Rosa, CA – Creighton Honeck and Clint Frost hold on to outlast Travis Peterson and Domingo Jojola by two. Paul Balatti and Tom Musselman won the Senior Division in a playoff over Kip Estep and Don Gafner on the first playoff hole. David Sheff and Rich Tolly converted their second round lead to win the Super Senior Division at the Trans-Miss Four-Ball Championship at Mayacama Golf Club

Creighton Honeck of Bee Cave, TX and Clint Frost of Robinson, TX had a four shot lead headed into the final round. That however was surrendered by the fifth hole when Travis Peterson of Santa Rosa, CA and Domingo Jojola of Burlingame, CA completed two, two-shot swings.  Despite, Honeck and Frost’s lead now being shared, they never actually gave up the top of the leaderboard. They made sure the victory was theirs though as the Texans birdie four of the last five holes. Peterson and Jojola came in with a strong finish as well; it just ended up being two shots short.

Third place in the Mid-Am Division was a three way tie at seventeen-under-par.  First round leaders Robert Kupchynsky of Dallas, TX and David Richards also of Dallas were six-under on the final round to reach the 17-under mark. The rounds of the tournament though came from two teams. Ned Jensen of San Francisco, CA and Ben Peters of San Mateo, CA as well as Jerry Ledzinski of Carmel, CA and Gary Dunn of Granite Bay, CA fired ten-under-par rounds in the final round to skyrocket up the leaderboard.

In the Senior Division, Kip Estep of Rockwall, TX and Don Gafner of Sunnyvale, TX shot a final round, seven-under to get to a three day total of twelve-under-par. Playing in the same group as Gafner and Estep, Tom Musselman of Scottsdale, AZ and Paul Balatti of Windsor, CA carded a four-under round to get to the twelve-under total.

In a playoff to determine the champion in the Senior Division, Paul Balatti using his home club knowledge, made a six foot birdie to take the title.

Finishing in third in the Senior Division was Mark Martin of Sebastopol, CA and Paul Weinhold of Eugene, OR. Their final round three-under effort was enough to claim the position outright.

David Sheff of Laguna Niguel, CA and Rich Tolly of Dana Point, CA managed to convert their 36 hole lead into a victory after a five-under-par, 67 in the final round. The duo was just one under before they rallied and made four birdies in the last five holes.

Steven Hakes of Las Vegas, NV and Douglas Pool of San Degio, CA finished in second place. They too tried to rally and come from behind to claim victory by making a birdie five of the last six holes. The only one they didn’t birdie was the par three, seventeenth.
