Louisiana Women's Mid-Amateur & Senior Amateur Championships

Championship to determine the top Women's Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateur in Louisiana in 2024.

 

Field/Format: Limited to the first 144 entries. All competitors will play 36 holes of stroke play over two days (April 20-21). All competitors will be pre-flighted based upon the April 1, 2024 World Handicap System revision. Number of players registered will determine number of flights. Flights will be net competition. Any player 50 years or older will automatically be competing for the Senior Amateur Championship.  

 

Entry Deadline: Tuesday, April 16 2024 at 5 PM CST.

Entry Fee, Withdrawal/Refunds: Entry fee of $225 which includes cart fee for practice round and tournament play. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries (April 16, 2024). 
 After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement) reaches LGA offices by April 19, 2024. A 20% service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

Dress Code: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Important Note: Chateau Golf & Country Club is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes. 

Eligibility: Entries are open to any Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA and The R&A) holding membership in a LGA Member Club in good standing (2023 club and individual dues must be paid).  Entrants must be 21 years of age by midnight, April 20, 2024 and cannot be a member of a college golf team to compete in the Mid-Amateur Championship, and 50 years of age by midnight April 20, 2024 to compete in the Senior Amateur Championship and must possess a certified WHS Index of 40.0 or less. Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. 
In addition to the Overall Championship, there is a Super Senior (65+) division and Grand Super Senior (70+) division for those participants who are 65 years of age and older. Divisions will be determined based on field size at the close of entries and at the discretion of the committee.

 

Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at Chateau Golf & Country Club on Friday, April 19, 2024. Cart fee paid by LGA. Contact the golf shop at Chateau on or after April 16 to schedule a practice round. Pairings and starting times for first round of play will be posted at Chateau, Friday, April 19. Pairings and starting times will also be emailed to participants on or about April 16 and posted on the LGA's website, www.LGAgolf.org. 

Prizes/Playoff: The Women's Mid-Amateur Champion will receive a crystal trophy and the Mid-Amateur perpetual trophy to be kept at the champions home club for one year. The Women's Senior Amateur Champion will receive a crystal trophy and the Senior Amateur perpetual trophy to be kept at the champions home club for one year. Additional prizes will be given out to the top finishers in each division. 

Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final.
