INFORMATION FOR COMPETITORS - ST RULE TROPHY
 

Registration
Competitors are requested to register at the Tournament Office, located in the portacabin near the 1st tee of the Old Course, from 09.00 - 16.00 hrs on Friday 31 May.

 

If you are unable to register in person on Friday 31 May, please telephone the Tournament Office on +44 (0)1334 466725 prior to 14.00 hrs to confirm your participation and then register in the Links Clubhouse (downstairs) prior to play on Saturday 1 June.

 

At registration, each competitor will receive important information on using the Golf Genius App, Pace of Play, Local Rules, catering arrangements and an Old Course pouch.

 

Golf Genius

All Tournament administration will be completed via Golf Genius (scoring, practice round booking, drawsheets and Tournament information).  This can be accessed via the Golf Genius App or the Tournament portal via our website. 

 

Please download the Golf Genius App and access the Tournament information using the following GGID code – HUSSYU  Further information on how to register on Golf Genius can be found on the user guide.

 

Please ensure that prior to arrival, you have downloaded the Golf Genius App and on competition days, your phone is fully charged.

Tournament Practice Area
The Tournament practice area will be located at the far end of the Golf Academy, opposite the driving bays.  This practice area is for competitors only.  Long and short game practice facilities are also available.

The opening hours will be:
● Friday 31 May: 08.00 - 19.00 hrs
● Saturday 1 June: 06.00 - 10.00 hrs
● Sunday 2 June: 06.00 - last tee time in Round 3

Car parking will be available adjacent to the practice facilities and balls will be provided.

 

On Thursday 30 May from 13.00 hrs, competitors may visit the Golf Academy with access to free practice balls and the grass tee.  Any competitor wishing to practice outwith the above times will be charged the appropriate fee.

 

Practice Rounds

Courtesy practice rounds (for competitors only) are available as detailed below:
● Thursday 30 May, New Course from 14.48 – 16.00 hrs

● Friday 31 May, New Course from 09.04 – 09.44 hrs & 15.28 – 16.40 hrs
● Friday 31 May, Old Course from 11.20 – 12.50 hrs & 15.30 – 16.00 hrs
 

You may book practice rounds from 11.00 am on Tuesday 14 May, online via the Tournament portal, or by email to struletrophy@standrews.com. Once you are registered on the Golf Genius portal, you will see the practice round start sheets.  Details on how to book a practice round can be found on the practice round tab of the Tournament portal.

Any practice rounds prior to Thursday 30 May can be arranged in advance and normal green fees will apply.  Please see the St Andrews Links website for further information.

 

Order of Play

Rounds 1 and 2 will be played over the New Course on Saturday 1 June and Round 3 over the Old Course on Sunday 2 June. All competitors will play 54 holes. The Order of Play will be published on the Tournament portal, via the St Andrews Links website or Golf Genius App around 2 weeks prior to the first day of play.

 

Play

Competitors are expected to acquaint themselves with the Local Rules - these will be covered at Registration, together with information on pace of play.

 

Disputes or doubts may only be referred to Officials and members of the Organising Committee.  In particular, rulings on the course may only be given by Officials.

 

Please play without undue delay as action will be taken against persistent slow play offenders.

 

Scoring
This will be completed via the Golf Genius App.
 

Recording
On completion of play in each round, ALL competitors should ensure they progress immediately to score recording (situated at the Links Clubhouse on Saturday and beside the Tournament office on Sunday) and should not verify their score on the Golf Genius App until they have been advised to do so by the recording officials. For both digital and scorecard recording, both the players and markers signature must be recorded once scores are verified.

 

Live Scoring

Competitors will be using the Golf Genius App for scoring with an up to date leaderboard available on the Tournament portal. 

Car Parking
Free car parking is available in the St Andrews Links Clubhouse car park. 

Caddies
Competitors may use their own caddie (PGA Professionals are permitted to caddie) or if you wish to request a local caddie, please contact the Caddie Manager on caddie.department@standrews.com. The caddie fee is £65 plus gratuity.

Trolleys
Trolleys are permitted at all times during the practice rounds on the New Course and the Old Course, plus during the competition rounds on both courses.

 

Manually operated wide-wheeled trolleys will be available free of charge from the Starters and the Old Pavilion. There is a limited supply of battery powered trolleys and they may be pre-booked on struletrophy@standrews.com for £20 per day. Please note they will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.


Clubhouse Facilities
The Links Clubhouse and Eden Clubhouse are available for use by competitors.  A £1 payment (which is refundable) is required for the individual lockers.

Food and Drink
Snacks / meals will be available within the Tom Morris Bar & Grill, located within the Links Clubhouse. All competitors will have access to a “quick service check out” in between Rounds 1 and 2 on Saturday 1 June.

Shuttle Bus
The courtesy shuttle bus will operate from the practice facilities to the 1st tees of the New Course (at the Links Clubhouse) and the Old Course – you can find further information via the website here)

Photography / Filming

St Andrews Links has commissioned photographers and videographers for the day of the tournament. Photos and videos captured may be used for the purposes of promoting the club through our website, social media accounts, or other promotional materials. If you do not wish for your image to be published, please let us know by writing to struletrophy@standrews.com.

Presentation of Prizes
The presentation of prizes will take place as soon as possible after close of play on Sunday 2 June in front of The R&A Clubhouse.
