2024 U.S. Women's Open Qualifier - Winchester CC

Practice RoundsPlayers may arrange a practice round by contacting the golf shop and identifying themselves as a competitor in the field. Practice rounds will be offered based on club availability within the timeframes listed below. 

 

Availability: 

  • To schedule a practice round - all requests MUST BE EMAILED to jsalinetti@winchestercc.org
  • Tuesday, April 23rd - Afternoon
  • Wednesday, April 24th - Afternoon
  • Thursday, April 25th - Afternoon
  • Tuesday, April 30th - Afternoon (Reserved for Players outside of the region) 

Notes:

  • Practice rounds are for competitors only.
  • Competitors will be limited to one practice round and will be paired up with other competitors.
  • Please limit your practice round to one ball on each hole and be aware of your pace of play with surrounding groups. 

 

Starting Times:  Play will begin at 8:00am off the 1st & 10th tee. Pairings & Starting Times will be available after the close of entries and can be accessed by clicking the "Starting Times & Parings" tab above. Groups will remain the same for Round 2 and will have approximately 20-30 minutes between rounds. There will be no registration on the day of the event, please report to your scheduled starting tee to receive local rules, hole locations, scorecard, etc. at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Withdrawals:  To withdraw from a qualifier, please login to the USGA Portal and click WITHDRAW and select the Championship and Reason for withdrawing. If applicable, any refund will be processed within 5-7 business days. Once submitted, all withdrawals are final. If you need to withdraw within 48 hours of the qualifier, please also e-mail Steve Yatrousis at syatrousis@massgolf.org. 

 

Qualifying & Alternate Spots Available: 3 Qualifying Spot(s) and 2 Alternate Spots. Qualifying players will advance to the 79th U.S. Women's Open Championship presented by Ally at Lancester Country Club (Lancaster, PA).  

 

Distance Devices:  The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.

 

Automotive Transportation: The use of automotive transportation will NOT be permitted during the player's round. Pull/push carts will be permitted.

 

Caddies & Push Carts: Players are permitted to employ a caddy and/or use a push cart. Club caddies with varying levels of experience may be available for the qualifier, please email Jim Salinetti (jsalinetti@winchestercc.org) if interested. 

 

Competition Tees/ Yardage: Competition Tees & Yardage are approximate and subject to change. Play will be approximately from the Combo Tee yardage (yardage chart below) - 6,365 yards (Par 72).

Golf Shop, Locker Room and Practice Facilities: The practice facilities will be open and available at 6:30am.The Learning Center (Driving Range) can be accessed by vehicle. Please use 0 Lockeland Road Winchester, MA in your GPS to access the range prior to your arrival. The "short range" near the Pro Shop/Clubhouse is unavailable. When leaving the range, turn right onto Lockland road, and then turn right onto Arlington Street. The clubhouse will be about a half mile down on the right-hand side. 

 

Food & Beverage: Lunch will be available outside of the Pro Shop between rounds. Premade Wraps (Caprese, Turkey, or Chicken Caesar) will be available with Whole Fruit, Granola Bar, and Water/Sports Drinks. Lunch may be purchased for $20 (CASH ONLY). The halfway house will also be open (CASH ONLY). 

 

Dress Code:  During the qualifying rounds and practice rounds, please be sure to reference the Winchester CC Dress Code. 

  • The appropriate length for golf shorts, skirts, or skorts is mid-thigh or longer. 
  • Leggings or yoga pants, if worn, must be under a golf skirt or golf dress. 
  • Women's golf shirts may be collarless with sleeves, or sleeveless with collars.

*There will be no registration on the day of the event - please report to your scheduled starting hole to receive local rules, scorecard, etc. 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
