This is a pending registration for the 2024 Tri-State Tournament, a competition between Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire, to be played June 11 & 12 at Brattleboro Country Club. All players will be placed on a "Pending Registration" list until the team is finalized on May 30.

Registration deadline: This pending registration will close on May 22 at 3:00 p.m.

After the close of this pending registration, the Tri-State Committee will select the members to represent Vermont in 2024 and players will be notified once the team is selected. At that time your credit card will be charged if you are selected for the team. There is no charge for this pending registration.

Player Entry Fee:  The cost for registration will be $115.00 per player and includes golf plus cart both days and Tuesday night banquet dinner. The VSWGA is paying $50 toward each player's total fee of $165.

Eligibility: Amateur golfers with an active VT GHIN handicap not exceeding 30.0 as of May 23, 2024 will be considered for selection. Five scores must have been posted to GHIN between January 1, 2024 and June 1, 2024 in order to be considered for selection.

Additionally, players must be a member in good standing of the VSWGA and a VSWGA member club, must be legal residents of Vermont, and must have posted a minimum of 10 rounds of golf in the last 12 months at any VSWGA member club. Read more about the Tri-State Championship and eligibility for VSWGA major tournaments on our website.

Practice Round: Monday, June 10. Fee for the practice round is $40 and includes a cart. No caddies are allowed on tournament days. There is a mandatory players only team meeting on Monday end-of-day (time and location TBD).

Banquet: Tuesday, June 11 (mandatory)

The clothing combination for the Vermont Team is green shirt and black bottom on both days. Team shirts will be provided.

Everyone is encouraged to apply for a place on the Vermont Tri-State Team. The Vermont Team will be made up of 30 players in three handicap divisions plus two alternate players with a handicap of 15 or higher. There has been a change in handicap protocol for 2024.

The first day format will be modified alternate shot match play. Strokes will be determined by comparing the lowest handicap player of each team at 90%. Second day format will be individual match play among the states at 100% handicap. The two alternate team members will play a net stroke play competition with the alternates from the other states unless needed to replace an injured or sick teammate. The substitution of an alternate player for a match player can happen at any time during play and for any division.

The following are taken into consideration during team selection: Handicap indexes with a focus on 2024 Vermont postings. For those with previous Tri-State experience, performance statistics for the past three years will be used. For players who are new to Tri-States, performance in relation to the players' handicap for the past three VSWGA Majors played will be used. Past alternates and those players who have traveled to ME and NH for Tri-State will be given consideration when breaking ties while ranking applicants.

For the purpose of the tournament, handicaps as of June 1 will be used. Division placement is based on handicaps on May 29th.

Further information will be sent to all selected team members.

The division handicap ranges and number of players are:

Division A:  Handicap:  0.0 - 14.9  (10 players)
Division B:  Handicap:  15.0 - 21.9  (12 players)
