2018 Nebraska Women's Amateur Championship

Eligibility: Entrant must be an Amateur Golfer with an active USGA Handicap Index® issued by a “member club” of the Nebraska Golf Association. Entrant must also be a member of NWAGA and a “resident” of Nebraska (See NWAGA Residency Criteria below).

 

NWAGA Residency Criteria:  An individual is considered to be a resident of Nebraska if they:

 

  1. Maintain either a primary or a secondary residence in Nebraska, or
  2. Are an active duty member of the United States Military stationed in Nebraska, or
  3. Are a student physically attending college in Nebraska within a time period four-months prior to the event, or
  4. Are a graduate of a Nebraska high school attending an out-of-state college.

 

If the above criteria are in question, the NWAGA Tournament Committee shall render any final decision.

 

Amateur Status: All players must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf.

 

Entry Fee: Entry fee of $155 must be paid by every player. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if NWAGA is notified (402-505-4653, x103) before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded in the event of injury or illness, if requested no later than June 17. No refund for any reason after June 17. A $25 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

 

Entry includes the 54-holes of stroke play competition; use of the practice facility; prizes; a Monday player’s dinner and Wednesday awards reception.

 

Entry Period: NWAGA only accepts on-line applications. Entries open at 8 a.m. C.D.T. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Entries must be received by NWAGA no later than 5 p.m. C.D.T. on Monday, June 11, 2018. Late applications are not acceptable and will be automatically rejected. (Entries by telephone, e-mail, or FAX not acceptable.) Time limit for entries means time of receipt at NWAGA (not time entry is sent or transmitted to NWAGA). Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and NWAGA will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry.

 

Divisions (Championship and Non-Championship): The Championship Division is comprised of those golfers with an up-to-date Handicap Index® of 6.0 or less and those that declare Championship. The Non-Championship Division is comprised of those golfers with an up-to-date Handicap Index® exceeding 6.0.

 

Format: The tournament will consist of 54 holes of stoke play with the Championship Division playing a longer course than Non-Championship Divisions – approximately 6,000 yards. A tie for first place will be played off until a winner is determined. 

The Championship Division will be comprised of participants with a Handicap Index of 6.0 or less and those that declare Championship. All other entrants are in the Non-Championship Division.

After 36 holes, participants in both Divisions (Championship and Non-Championship) will be flighted. 

Day 1 - First round, 18-holes. Players will be paired by USGA Handicap Index with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.

Day 2 - Second Round. 18-holes. Players will be paired by first round score for the second day of competition with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.

 

The Medalist will be the participant with the lowest 36-hole round in the Championship Division. The Senior Medalist will be the participant, age 49 or older as of the first day of the tournament, with the lowest 36-hole score in the Championship Division. If no senior plays in the Championship Division, there will be no Senior Medalist. Flights in both Divisions will be composed after the second round of competition. If necessary, one or more participants at the bottom of one flight may be paired with participants in the next flight.

Day 3 - Third round, 18-holes with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.. Players will be paired by two-day total. With the exception to the overall Champion, in the event of ties within flights, the prize monies will be combined and divided pro-rata.
