2018 Nebraska Women's Match Play Championship

Eligibility: Entrant must be an Amateur Golfer with an active USGA Handicap Index® issued by a “member club” of the Nebraska Golf Association. Entrant must also be a member of NWAGA and a “resident” of Nebraska (See NWAGA Residency Criteria below).

 

NWAGA Residency Criteria:  An individual is considered to be a resident of Nebraska if they:

 

  1. Maintain either a primary or a secondary residence in Nebraska, or
  2. Are an active duty member of the United States Military stationed in Nebraska, or
  3. Are a student physically attending college in Nebraska within a time period four-months prior to the event, or
  4. Are a graduate of a Nebraska high school attending an out-of-state college.

 

If the above criteria are in question, the NWAGA Tournament Committee shall render any final decision.

 

Amateur Status: All players must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf.

 

Entry Fee: Entry fee of $105 must be paid by every player. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if NWAGA is notified (402-505-4653, x103) before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded in the event of injury or illness, if requested no later than July 22. No refund for any reason after July 22. A $25 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

 

Entry includes the 18-hole qualifying round and any subsequent matches; use of the practice facility; prizes; a luncheon for all participants following Monday’s qualifying round and an awards luncheon Wednesday for all flight finalists.

 

Entry Period: NWAGA only accepts on-line applications. Entries open at 8 a.m. C.D.T. on Friday, June 1, 2018. Entries must be received by NWAGA no later than 5 p.m. C.D.T. on Friday, July 13, 2018. Late applications are not acceptable and will be automatically rejected. (Entries by telephone, e-mail, or FAX not acceptable.) Time limit for entries means time of receipt at NWAGA (not time entry is sent or transmitted to NWAGA). Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and NWAGA will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry.

 

Divisions (Gross and Net): The Gross Division is comprised of those golfers with an up-to-date Handicap Index® of 6.0 or less and those that declare Gross Division. The Net Division is comprised of those golfers with an up-to-date Handicap Index® exceeding 6.0.

 

Format:

Gross Division - Comprised of those golfers with an up-to-date Handicap Index® of 6.0 or less and those that declare Gross Division.

 

Competition will be in two stages.
A) Stroke Play - 18 holes stroke play to determine flights and seeds for match play. The low 16 scores will comprise the Championship bracket. Remaining players will be placed into brackets of eight. A tie for the last qualifier's place in the championship bracket will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.

B) Match Play - General numerical draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by the order on the public scoreboard summary and by performance in the play-off.
MONDAY, JULY 23, First Round (Championship Only), 18-holes - Starting Times beginning at 2 p.m.
TUESDAY, JULY 24, Quarterfinal Round (All Flights), 18-holes - Starting Times beginning at 8 a.m.
TUESDAY, JULY 24, Semifinal Round (All Flights), 18-holes - Starting Times beginning at 1 p.m.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 25, Finals (All Flights), 18-holes - Starting Times beginning at 7:30 a.m.

 

Net Division - Comprised of those golfers with an up-to-date Handicap Index® exceeding 9.4.

 

Competition will be in two stages.
A) Stroke Play - 18 holes stroke play to determine flights and seeds for match play (based on net scores). Each competitor receives their full Course Handicap.

B) Match Play - General numerical draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, any ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw. In each net division match, the higher handicapped player will receive the full difference in Course Handicap between the two players; the lower-handicapped player plays from scratch.

Practice Rounds: Available at a time convenient to Yankee Hill Country Club (402 421-1700). Fee is $25; additional $15 for cart. Practice rounds prohibited on Saturdays and before 2 p.m. on Sundays.
