QUALIFYING MEMORANDUM TO PLAYERS

QUALIFYING PORTAL: Follow the link for pairings, live scoring, results and player information. You can also access the qualifying portal by using the Golf Genius app on your mobile device. To access the page, login using the GGID: USSRWOPEN-FW24
QUALIFYING YARDAGE: 5,891 yards, par-72. Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. The nines will be reversed for the qualifier and the listed course yardage is reflective of the change.
FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES: Stroke play competition conducted over 18 holes. The field of 16 players will compete for three (3) qualifying places and two (2) alternate positions in to the U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship to be played August 1-4, 2024 at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, PA.
PRACTICE ROUND AVAILABILITY: Players may play one hosted practice round prior to the qualifier. Practice Rounds will be available after 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8 for out of town contestants. Local contestants can practice on a weekday afternoon in the two weeks prior at the discretion of the golf shop. All contestants must call the golf shop at (253) 200-6864 to make arrangements. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the Twin Lakes G&CC golf shop.
STARTING TIMES: Available on the Washington Golf website (wagolf.org) and on the qualifying portal. Starting times will be from 7:30 a.m. – 8:25 a.m. off the #1.
RESULTS/LIVE SCORING: Live scoring will be available during the qualifying after holes #4, #9, #13, and #18.
PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place or for the order of alternates, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff to determine the final qualifiers and the 1st and 2nd alternates if necessary. All announcements regarding the play-off and start time will be made via text message and email.
GOLF SHOP: Open at 6:30 a.m.
FOOD SERVICE: Food service will be available at the snack bar window and in the clubhouse starting at 11:00 a.m. A coffee station will be available in the prop shop beginning at 6:30 a.m.
METHODS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED: All major credit cards are accepted in the prop shop and clubhouse. Cash is NOT accepted.
LOCKER ROOM: The clubhouse locker room with be available for player use beginning at 6:30 a.m. Individual lockers will not be available.
PRACTICE FACILITIES/RANGE BALLS: Range balls will be hosted on the driving range beginning at 6:30 a.m.
CADDIES: Caddies are permitted. Host club caddies are not available. All caddies must wear a caddie bib distributed on the starting tee.
PULL CARTS: Pull carts are permitted. Host club pull carts are available for player use at no charge. Players may provide their own pull cart.
CARTS: Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee. Spectator carts are not permitted.
FOOTWEAR: Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player must not wear shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, of any design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course). Penalty for breach of this Local Rule: See Rule 4.3.
DRIVERS/GOLF BALLS: The Local Rule for Conforming Driver Heads is in effect, See Model Local Rule G-1. The Local Rule requiring that all golf balls used be on the List of Conforming Golf Balls is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-3. Please check the USGA website, www.usga.org, for a list of approved golf balls and drivers.
GROOVES: The players clubs must conform to the grooves and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010. See Model Local Rule G-2. UNDERSTANDING THE GROOVES LOCAL RULE
DMDS: The use of distance-measuring devices (DMD) to measure distance only (Rule 4.3) is permitted. UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF DMDs
PACE OF PLAY: It is a condition that players must play without undue delay and in accordance with guidelines established by the Committee. PACE OF PLAY GUIDELINES
EVACUATION PLAN: In the event of a discontinuance of play during the qualifier, players must adhere to the evacuation plan distributed by the Committee. The evacuation plan will be emailed to players the day prior to the qualifier and will available on the starting tee.
CODE OF CONDUCT: As set forth in the USGA application, the code of conduct applies to all USGA Qualifying and Championships.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE: Players must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing.
AWARD CEREMONY: A Silver Medal will be awarded to the lowest scorer and lowest amateur scorer.
